Doesn't matter anymore, our season is shot anyway

We played Freo in Freo.
There isnt a tougher road trip at the moment.

Maybe Geelong in Geelong (which we've also done this year).

We would have had that pencilled in a as a big fat red L at the beginning of the season.

McKernan was one of the best for the ravens - take off your hate glasses.

Meanwhile JJ's efforts were pathetic against Freo. The gap between his best & worst is huge & he really stinks when he plays badly as the effort was missing. That's the bit which annoys me the most!

I'm not talking about dropping him (yet), but shaking him up, as his efforts on Sunday were totally unacceptable for a professional footballer... & yes, he wasn't alone - but JJ is the Crows' player with the biggest gap between his best & worst this year.
Lunacy is arguing he wasn't the best, which i completely agree with. I agree he should be in the bests but not the best.

Does anyone follow the Eagles? Maybe they can let us know how Heinjus and Borholm have been travelling but from Heinjus profile he has played 13 games and stands at 194cm, which you would expect an AFL Ruck/Forward would destroy. Borholm at 197 and 22 games is a bit more of a challenge but not much.

Our issue has been he took on some tweener ruckmen and beat them comprehensively, does that make him the best?

Probably, but it comes down to how we presented and committed ourselves on the day.

I certainly didn't have him as our best. M Crouch had that comfortably covered.

No question McKernan was one of our best though.

Or a big L against collingwood?
We've probably won 1 less game than expected at this point in the year.

You guys are pretty stupid if you exepct a win in WA against current Freo side.

Who expected a win? I think my prediction was between a 3 goal win (everything going right) and a 16 goal loss. Just because we had the loss marked in pen doesn't mean we should accept where the club is at and it shouldn't excuse players for individual piss-poor performances.

It may have escaped your attention but we were 10 points up at quarter time ( should have been 16 if Danger could take a chest mark), then still a few points up at half time;

To then be slaughtered in the second half should just be accepted? You reckon ?

But we can still make the 8 peter. Did you hear me, the 8.

Ah yes the halcyon days of 07 when we were one good half off a semi. Or 08 when we were one kris Massie from a semi

Those were the days

Not accepted, but somewhat expected.
We're not a top team, Fremantle are.
WA is a difficult road trip.

Not a great performance, but I just dont think it should be unexpected.

i get what your saying

until we win a premiership - there will be unhappy supporters. it's been a long 16 years

Ok you were at the game I assume or you looking at stats guessing? The know 2 guys that went and they said he was BOG.

Dominant performance in ruck.
Like many I watched whole game on TV and certainly Smack played much much better than other games seen him in but no way was BOG and behind M Crouch - Reilly -- Callinan - B Crouch as our best .
He beat a inexperienced ruck man who out marked him around the ground.
Pleas please no more talk about Smack back in AFL .

That dropped chest mark really annoyed me. Not only did he drop a simple chest mark at a critical time but straight after he just started smiling and laughing. Should've been angry at himself. Really annoyed me.

He should come in for Pods this week and free up Jenkins to be a permanent forward. Would be good to give Jacobs some competent help as well.

It was live on tv so yes I watched the game. My best would have been in the following order:
1 M.Crouch
2 B.Crouch
3 Reilly
4 Grigg
5 Porps (most of his possessions were late in the game).
6 Mckernen

I had Mckernen as 6th best for the Ravens. It was one of his better games but not BOG. Graham often gets 30 hitouts in sanfl but no one would suggest he'd be close to BOG.

Matt was by far BOG, pretty sure he got more than 31

Here pick my Problems in my selections

Ins:Hartigan,M.Crouch,L.Thompson,Reilly
It's Time to see if L.Thompson will be with us next year

Outs:Rutten,Martin,C.E.Y,Lyons Jaensch (Inj)

Brown,Tallia,L.Thompson
Reilly,Hartigan,Laird
Danger,Thompson,Smith
Kerridge,Otten,Cameron
J.Pod,Walker,Betts
R Jacobs,Sloane Douglas
Int:Jenkins.M.Crouch,B.Crouch Mackay

All these guys like Grigg, Lyons, Wright who have been parked at a pseudo-mid/half forward position this season and struggled - can't we expand our midfield rotation a bit? Why does Thommo have to be at EVERY centre clearance? Can't Sloane/Danger have the odd run across half back?

Thommo can't play any other position apart from inside mid.

He is very slow for a player his size and his goal kicking is atrocious, he should hang up the boots at the end of this season.

Well pods wasn't good, but neither were Tex or Jenkins. To isolate Pods as the poor key forward yesterday is plain bias. Those that are critical of Pods yesterday must also be critical of Tex & Jenkins. Likewise those critical of Jenkins yesterday must look at Tex & Pods.

The forwards didn't compete well enough and lost too many one on ones (often out numbered), but the biggest reason was the midfield supremacy of the Dockers.
I agree but Pods has been the worst of the three for the season so if someone goes it has to be him. I personally wouldn't drop him as we have no one to replace him but once Lynch is back he should be under pressure.
