The Burgess quotes on our fitness update are genuinely infuriating.

“Murph has completed everything we have asked of him over the past three weeks,” Burgess said.
“And as long as he gets through training tomorrow, we expect him to be available this weekend.”

Stop. No more.

“Brodie has been managing a back issue, he did really well to play on Friday night and get through the game,” Burgess said.

Where does this mentality come from? He didn't do 'really well' at all. He was a bottom two player in that game, and therefore played a big role in losing it for us. ****ing unbelievable.

It’s not really his place to say Smith played shit though

He's coming straight back in because our selectors are desperate & stupid.

I think this is part of the internal story within the club at the moment - Nicks mentioned after the Carlton game that 'we haven't played a team that has lost yet', and I think this factor combined with the fact that all the games have been fairly close and competitive is keeping the heat off a bit. This is the first game against a team that has struggled this year and I think a big comfortable win would support an internal narrative that the team was a bit off early on and has been a bit unlucky with injuries, form and even umpiring, but it's largely a blip. A loss would be pretty devastating, on the other hand.

That said I think Adelaide will probably win comfortably.

Nicks has sh1t for brains - confirmed.

Even when he is rambling about other clubs he is clueless (not surprising when he's clueless about his own club)

We played Melbourne in round 4, they lost to Sydney in the opening round.

Maybe he didn't realise that was the start of the season, not round 1. The buffoon probably thought it was a practice match before the real stuff started the following week.

I know, I'm just generally frustrated, and reading those words properly got to me.

I'm doing a review of our kick outs for that game, and while Hinge is making good decisions and hitting targets, the usual liabilities (McHenry and Smith) are dual-handedly throwing the game for us.

The more i have thought on it, the more i want them to play Curtin in the main side now and i really don't care if it takes him time to adjust. He IS a huge talent and needs to be a key part of our future. Just get him in and leave him in. They simply just have to start prioritising our top line young talent, and that also means Dowling. Finals is a pipe dream now so use whats left of this year to blood the better kids.

I don't think they will debut until after the showdown so we could be 1-7. But I wouldn't put it past Nicks to bring Curtin in, have him play at FB and get soundly beaten by his opponents so Nicks can banish him to the Sanfl for the remainder of the year.

Elite standards?

As John would say “pigs arse”.

Formula One Football.

Get the Job Done.

Walsh wasn't around long enough to see if he would succeed in that vision but we sure as hell know the club is failing abysmally and is pretty much headed in the opposite direction.

How has Burgess gone from being head of fitness at some of the biggest sporting organisations in the world Arsenal and Liverpool, to now peddling this sort of absolute shite.

My assumption is that McHenry will get dropped but * me, talk about shuffling the deck chairs...

They have decided they absolutely need one of them in the team.
Is it sholls turn to come in or go out this week?
I forgot.

The issue is Nicks is throwing players under the bus. Firstly Sholl was the answer against Fremantle. He subsequently wasn't. Got dropped the following week. So Nicks basically painted the loss against Fremantle against Sholl. Nicks and McHenry have said that his job is to keep the shape over substance and run the kms, even if he just gets a handful of possessions. So if he drops McHenry, what is it for? a game after revealing this player plan, is he dropped because he failed at running?

Combine all this with making Berry a consistent scape goat.

Murphy will come back when fit. If this week I fully expect it to be for Berry if he is injured.

The amusing thing about this is that it isn't even true. At no point has he covered the most ground. Of the four games he has played in full, in kilometres ran he has been ranked; N/A, 3rd, 4th, N/A.
And in all four games, he was still covering less ground than opposition wingmen - Sharp, Langdon and Nic Martin were all ranked 1st, Ollie Hollands ranked 2nd.

And those players actually get the ball, do something useful with it and don't give away brainless frees.
