If we lose to North and then get smashed in the Showdown, I would fully expect that there would be absolutely searing scrutiny on the club that will be too noisy for them to ignore.
Once you start hearing Silvers or Olsen come out and and say "He (Nicks) has the full support of the board" - thats usually the death knell and the sacking is usually imminent from there.
They will spin it like "We gave Matthew the extension to provide him with less distraction and let him focus on the playing group, unfortunately we are in a results based industry and given the level of expectation we had internally we have had to part ways with Matthew"
Looks like Murphy will play AFL. Pedlar, berg and Dowling will be in AFL Squad

Small forward Lachlan Murphy, who has been sidelined for the past three matches with a knee injury, is also expected to be available for selection.
“Murph has completed everything we have asked of him over the past three weeks,” Burgess said.
“And as long as he gets through training tomorrow, we expect him to be available this weekend.”

And they don’t seem to surprise us these useless bunch of sh!t selectors. Thank God Dowling is in, but he should’ve been in round 7 2023. Good pedlar is back, as I’ve always backed him. If I see Murphy in this side just one more time, I really think it’s time as a club we look in the mirror. Players like him, McHenry, himmelburg, have been given a hell load of chances over the years. Constantly all being chosen, while dishing useless sh!t out. I want to see Dowling, Curtain, Taylor, Pedlar all in the squad. It ain’t gonna happen, maybe Pedlar at most. Pathetic…

He certainly could do the role .....his target selection and execution by foot was terrible in the first 4 games .....he's slowly getting back to his 2023 form
