Jong is one of the most exciting players on our list. Tough, quick, one of 3 blokes in our team last night who made the Eagles look slow. I doubt Jong will be dropped this year.

Goodes was very solid last night as well.

No changes apart from Grant to start. Honey to Sub.

No changes for mine, I think Boyd and redpath will get better, but they did allow stringer to step up and kick 4.

Honey Jong and goodes with hunter Hrovat and Biggs are all on the fringe so over the year I can see a mix of them all coming in and out of the side.

I think if any changes happen it will be for match ups

Hard to change a winning side, and looks like we have come through injury free

There are no doubt several things the Drink will look to fix up quickly. One being to stop the easy counter attack and another being to get better cohesion between the key forwards.

As far as KPP's we need to go in the same against Richmond next week. While I understand Big Red didn't have the best game we need to remember that was only game no 4 - lets give him a bit of time (I'm predicting he clunks some and will kick 3 or 4 next week).

Hrovat, Hunter and Stevens have all been good to very good in the last 2 VFL games by all reports.

Do any of these 3 bring something into the team that we need?

Will Hunter provide more class the Honey while still bringing the same intensity?

Does Hrovat add a bit more dash and skill with F50 entries?

I get the feeling the Drink believes Hrovat is best 22 so I would not be surprised to see him come in.

I think dropping one of Goodes\Honeychurch for a Hunter\Webb

Or leaving the team as is.


One thing though, if we play as well as we did against West Coast and Richmond serve up the same shit they did against Carlton, we should win comfortably.

As it stands, I expect Richmond to improve.

Red was not that bad, Got in the right spots just wasn't able to clunk them.
Deserves 5-6 weeks to get settled in the side, Just keep in mind he has only played 4 Games

while Redpath did not have the game we wanted he and Boyd allowed mids and flankers to move in quickly and we were very good keeping it there. This was because we contested effectively often with first hands rather than last years easy defensive marks. Also McGovern played his best game - and was fantastic. Big Red will start clunking them soon so wouldn't panic - but also brings our game style into play and creates a foil for Toyd

You're throwing out the baby with the bathwater with your hysterical demand that Jong be dropped. He has the potential to be Daniel Cross with an extra 3 gears.

Jong's bursts out of congestion were really important at times. He enables us to run out of stoppages, as opposed to one of our one-paced mids slamming the ball on the boot. Couple his speed with his attack on the ball and the man (7 tackles) and ability to get his hands on it (24 disposals) and I think any reasonable observer would say he's got the makings of a pretty important cog in our midfield.

There's a lot more to this sport than being a beautiful kick of the ball. However, that's a skill that can be improved significantly over time.

As for this week, I wouldn't make any changes, save for starting Jarrad Grant and making Honeychurch the sub (as others have said) - not as any criticism on Honeychurch's performance this week, I thought he was solid, but to get more game time into Spindles.
