After todays BAD display against melbourne an early change has to be Motlop for Sav!!
Sav not playing any good today, don't even think he got a touch, opponents run off him to early, and gets run down too easily!! Need another forward target and if Jr can fill the hole we might have a chance next week.
I don't want people to post on here that the roos have no chance and will get flogged for the next 5 weeks. We always have a chance if our best team lifts for the occasion!!

IN: Watson
OUT: Wells

He is playing lazy, squibby football and needs a rocket up the arrse. One decent game a month is not enough for such a talent. I'd also like to know why Hale didn't get more time on the ground today. Bring back Bruno too.

We always have a chance... what is disappointing is that our intensity varies from week to week.

Our first and last quarters were respectable, but we got smashed in the second and third. No one stood up during that period.

Motlop is an obvious selection. Thompson looks better at full forward than Sav. Do we make the hard decision and retire Rocca off? Our forward line is a bit slow and the ball goes the other way too easily with Sav there. But he's capable of getting the occasional bag of 4+ goals against smaller defenders.

Tough decision.

I think at the other end of the ground Colbert is struggling. Seems to give away a lot of free kicks. He looks too slow, and I really wonder whether we keep playing Sav and Colbert and try to scrape in to the finals, or decide to get rid of a few veterans, and blood some younger players.

We would then fall to 10th or lower, but find out if any of the younger guys have what it takes.

With our shocking percentage we will struggle to make the finals.

Do we go for the draftpicks and retire off the oldies?

Sav DEFINITELY OUT. His last 1/4 effort was almost career ending. He failed to clean up some Melbourne midget who was between a leading Sav and the ball- and he dropped the mark, next time he marked 30 out and passed it over our guy's head for another turnover and finally he got caught holding the ball in the middle of the ground when he had "all day" to do something, anything. Apart from that he did nothing.

Bring Hamish in and play him full fwd.

Motters will be in too but I'm not sure who for- there's a few to choose from :( .

Need to leave Thommo at ff, jr in the Rfp and jones in Lfp

Sav, Colby, BigMac, and Archer need to retire this year and we need to see if these kids can play!! No point limpimg into the finals and the guys retiring at seasons end... we will lose a year to see if the kids can play!!

out: Rocca, Perkins, M Stevens, Petrie (ankle is stuffed, give him until after the bye to try and get it right)
in: Motlop, McIntosh, LeCras, Watson (seems to have been tagging in the VFL, could do similar job as Perkins but offer more going the other way)

Arch has been in our best 22 consistently. He goes when HE says he's done as far as I'm concerned.

Laidley is giving our kids a go. Smith should definitely play every game this year. I agree with those saying that he shouldn't have been dropped. We need to get some games into McIntosh, Perry and Watson, but not all at once. There has to be some system or we will be exposed too much and that doesn't help anyone's development.

Trotter will get his chance too if he can stay on the park.

We had no chance of winning this game with Laidley playing one friggin tall against Melbourne of all teams.

As bad as Rocca was, the delivery was just terrible.

Rawling, Simpson, Firrito and even Wells were shocking with their decision making, in part I think the lack of tall targets is also a problem but our disposal was woeful today.

We can't afford having so many on ballers in the middle that couldn't hit the side of a barn with a pass.

Melbourne played like crap and we made them look good.

I do not mind losing to the Demons, I am just sick of amatuer grade football skills from guys that are meant to be professionals.

I think at this stage we should consider Sav retired and bring in McIntosh and push him as a forward. He may suck, he may not do much but he is going to be a long-term player and we need to get game time into those players that are likely to be here long-term.

When the opportunity presents itself I would push Trotter, Perry and several others into the team. I think too much is made about making the final 8, we should be more focused on building a successful team and if we are good enough to make the 8 while we are rebuilding then great.

I'm scared of saying this on here but sorry I think Colberts gone!

No doubting how courageous he is but he is far foo slow, falls over/dives when he is doesnt have too, leaves his opponent and gets caught out far too much, it's time to drop him.

IN: Motlop, Harris, LeCras
OUT: Colbert, Petrie, M. Stevens

exactly. that's the only way we are going to be placed in the same bracket as melbourne, geelong and st.kilda.

Top post Tas, agree 110%.

Does anyone at the club notice our (complete lack of ) skill level? I cannot believe that we on BF have to go on and on and on and on and on and... well you get the picture...... week after week after week after week after week after..... about the same subject.

It's not only the field kicking, it's also the kicking for goal- e.g. Brown and Jones in the last 1/4

Confidence is everything.

Sav must play against the Tigers this week as his inclusion will stretch their defense. The same could have been said for melbourne's defense but it was not exploited today. Melbourne has a backline that likes to run the ball out and our talls did not do enough. I only had an eye on the game as I was at work but did Thomo, Hale and Sav ever appear in the forward line together. If they had it would have been very difficult for Melbourne to match up on them.
Every time I looked at the TV it seemed as though Turtle was running through the middle and he looked OK. I thnk he may have kicked a goal too

It has nothing to do with confidence. It has to do with having no skills. For years we have recruited guys who lack in the skills department and it is showing so obviously. I am sick of having all these guys who bust a gut but when it comes down to it, lack in most departments.

Deadset idiot indeed.

It's amazing that we can get the ball from one end of the ground to the other with guys with absolutely no skills and lack in most departments. I think you just cut and pasted your CV in that last post year of the deadset idiot.

Hotel 6, if you'd seen Sav through that one eye that was on the game while the other one was "working" you'd be hard pressed to pick him next week. It would be just as effective to plant a tall tree about 20 out straight in front so that Boomer and Shagga can dodge around it. Give Hamish a go. He;s tall, AND young.

Sav's been great for us but it's been awhile.

Just remember.
Darren Gaspar plays for Richmond.
Sav will eat Gaspar for breakfast.
if sav was ever going to dominate it should have been today!! After a weeks "rest" he should have come out firing today, should have carved up the almost no-existent defencive structure at the dees. Although we should have moved the ball alot better and looked before we just blazed away!
