Crameri had a huge game from memory

Although its a hallmark of his game, his gut running and ability to get into our defencive half was immense during that game in particular.

The current team misses it badly.

B: Morris, Adams, Biggs
HB: Boyd, Wood, Suckling
C; Hunter, Libba, Dickson
HF: Stringer, Campbell, Jong
F: T. Boyd, Redpath, Daniel
F: Roughead, Macrae, Bont
Int: Williams, Picken, Wallis, Dunkley.

IMO T. Boyd plays every game when fully fit. Whenever he plays VFL he looks twice as good as any other player.
Roberts too easily out muscled off the ball, does not look up to it. Still remember that final last year where he dropped a sitter at an important stage. Honeychurch, i hope im wrong, but i dont think he will make it as an AFL player.'Many people bag Lin Jong but IMO he has a chance to become a good AFL footballer. Just needs continunity. He is big, hard at it, quick, good overhead mark. Not a great kick but that will improve. Well worth persisting with. Clay Smith has only played 2 VFL games after 3rd knee reco. Needs at least 6 weeks of match fitness in VFL. Far too early to bring back. In the next few weeks should have back: Stevens, Dalhaus, Mc Lean, JJ. In a prime position to make a run for the top 4. Really need to perform well against Swans, Roos and Geelong in those remaining games. It will not be enough just to beat the other sides

Reckon Clay would have been perfect had the bye not been this week and he'd have 3 games under his belt.

Because he's recovered from his injury, he's an animal that would help our team... it's just that he doesn't have the match fitness yet.

Love what he does but after no pre-season etc. and only two games under his belt the intensity at AFL level might just be a bit too much for his endurance and match fitness by the end of the game.

And as much as people hate the sports science and the rotations etc... this is where it comes into use. It's amazing what data you can get from those GPS's that they wear in games and they'll be able to determine when he's physically ready for AFL level just by using those numbers from the GPS he wears at VFL level.

I remember talking to a player once who was coming back from a long-term injury at a VFL game and after asking them about their recovery one of the things they mentioned to me after the game was the fact that they had run a certain amount of kilometres and were happy with that given the fact that they were coming off a long-term injury (and this number was given to them from their GPS mere minutes after the game had finished) - meaning that measuring their match fitness after an injury is a key thing with sports science nowadays.

It also breaks the distances down into classifications regarding intensity. For example, they could have done 15kms and 1.4km of that was at 96% (High intensity sprint) capacity while 4km could be at 24% capacity (gentle jog). It's staggering how it's broken down these days.
