its going to be very hard to watch the channel 7 eagle station from 2007.I know they are a major sponsor of the little fairies but they give me the sh**s
the way they crap on about them.They have allready started .While they were braging about winning the rites all they could show was footage of eagle players running in and kicking goals against the dockers.they suck

Actually, Hungry Jacks and SGIO are THE major sponsorS of the WESTCOAST EAGLES, and Channel 7 PERTH are an elite sponsor of the EAGLES aswell.

The way it sounds and not just from Freo supporters but other non-west coast supporters is that there is a definate West Coast bias in most media outlets in WA. The fact the Channel 7 are an ''elite sponsor" of the West Coast Eagles shows that they can't not have a bias. Could almost be a conflict of interest.

The only chip on the shoulders squareley placed on those of the West Coast who feel the need to lash out and rub in the faces of Fremantle Supporters.

Whatever, it has to be better than the rubbish dished out by Nine. The so called Footy Show. What a farce, the Sam and Eddie show, with half the programme taken up with Collingwood and Sam's disgusting antics. Why wait up till the last ten minutes of the programme before any Non Victorian teams are mentioned unless they are playing Collingwood. It used to be an enjoyable show, but deteriorated badly over the last couple of years. Time for a change.

Yes there is a media bias to West Coast in W.A ATM

They currently are a more succesfull club than Freo, it is simple as that. As an example the same media bias also applies in Victoria with the likes of Collingwoods and Essendons compared to say a Bulldogs or North Melbourne.

There is of course one way to start changing it around and it is not rocket science

After all the Dockers were the media darlings in season 2003, especially in the later part of the season

As far as the games go I'm relieved we're finally rid of Eddie. On that basis alone Channel 7 HAS to be better. (is Brian Taylor gone too? God I hope so!)
But as far as news broadcasts go Channel 9 News has always been the one to watch. What freo supporter could actually stand to watch those boofheads Mainwaring and Barich trying to string whole sentances together on 7 News. And then the icing on the cake is that snotty nosed weatherman Peter Newman always blowing wind up the eagles dates, talk about sickening!
I know the eagles have more fans and therefore will get more publicity but fer christ sakes!!! At least 9 and 10 were unbiased.

I heard - and this may be purely rumour - that he is sniffing around Ch10... pride probably won't allow him back to Ch7, but 10 may be the next best thing.

Can't say I would mind terribly if it meant Saturday games at Subi were without Tim Goosage's gaffs and gushiness.

Cometti has a clause in his contract that lets him leave 9 if they were to lose the footy. I dont care where he goes but I agree that he is starting to lose his shine, sounding a but corny and repetitive.

Cometti has the idea that he is football. He's wrong. Having personality and being quick-witted when you're a sports caller are great assets, but when you start taking yourself more seriously that the game you're calling, then I think you need to be told to remember why you're there. I think Dennis thinks the game is there for him; not that he is there because of the game.

You heard him sniffing? Given the size of his snoz that's not surprising.... but its an unpleasant mental image that may have been better left out of the discussion.

Changing subject... if the Dockers win 15 in a row, and make the granny, and the Eagles have a topsy-turvy season, the WA media will be all over us like me on my fantasy date with Megan Gale (example of positive mental imagery).

I think we have bigger problems than the WA media if our third best player can't outun a police woman.

personally I can't stand confetti ,he was so far up eddie that you couldn't prize him away ,it's probably better he follows him to the outer. He's another eagle supporter, there'e too many of them in the media as it is in Perth. I couldn't stand the way he ridiculed our players and the way we played I always thought he was the silent assassin.

I watched Mainwaring on the news last night and he bumbled and stumbled through the whole sport segment, sluring his words and then correcting himself. Just count yourselves lucky. You West Aussies get to see every Freo game on free to air TV. Here in Victoria it is closer to five. Lucky we have Foxtel.

Over here I think the love affair is with the Swans, I think 90% of their matches were shown on free to air TV here in Melbourne. It is because of their South Melbourne heritage, I know.
