• Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
• Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

• Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
• Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
• Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41
• Jayden Hunt announces retirement
• Jack Petruccelle, Callum Jamieson and Loch Rawlinson not offered new contracts
• Coen Livingstone joins the list of players not offered a new contract

I reckon Ramrod would love to take OA, if they’ve been keen on Curnow then why not take a player he knows for nothing?

Very strong trade relationships there, in the window, obviously have cap space if they were having a crack at Curnow. No FAs they are losing that Oscar would dilute compo.

1. Time to give up on starcevich, we have enough of his type already in Hough/Ginbey/Cole.
2. Get Allen band 1 from another club if Brisbane back out - there will be other takers.
3. Bid on Annable at 2 after we've taken Duursma.

Starcevich thing looks like a pretty weak bluff from the Lions to me.

I doubt they could afford to keep him even on his current salary given the money they have to find for the free agents coming in plus other players wanting a pay rise. And he is obviously worth more than what they are currently paying him.

Starcevich could help us out by telling the Lions if they don't strike a deal with us he is still leaving as a free agent to whichever club offers him the most money. In which case they will get nothing. A bit less grating than threatenning your old club with PSD. But Brisbane will get the point - take pick 21 from WCE or get nothing.

That is probably Brisbane's tactic.

We need to do what Hawthorn did to us last year, and trade out the picks Brisbane are after. Hawk's first plus the PP pick to Gold Coast for pick 7.

Pick 2 and Starc for 16 and OA would be taken everyday of the week. That’s a good deal for us, but 16 and OA for Starc is a steal for Brisbane.

WC can have the final laugh if trades get messy though, given the free agency period ends before the trade period, and we have the 1st picks in both the national draft and the psd.

Brisbane have to make a decision by Friday whereas we can wait.

As it stands lions only have like 1300 points so yeah there is likely truth In all this. They are trying to bend us over so they can continue to rort the system.

Brisbane thought process is that we have been pretty weak at the trade table in the last decade. We seem to value our relationships with other clubs and avoid getting our hands dirty with confrontation. And there is a whole week of time left to go in this trade period. Lets just hold the thing up, use up 3 or 4 days of the time left and demand a bit more and see if they cave in totally or just try and meet us in the middle to keep us happy. The pick we are offering will still be on the table come Wednesday or Thursday. They know that and so they are not risking anything with the brinkmanship. Maybe Starcevich himself will get antsy and pressure us to up our offer rather than threatenning them. And maybe they will get something.
