2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

I wouldn't think Cumming does.

Duursma
Sharp
CDT
Robey
Cumming
Schubert
Taylor
Marsh
Greeves
Grlj
Faz
Lindsay
Dovaston

One of Faz, Lindsay, Grlj, Dovaston should still be there.

That'd be great! All have excellent attributes. I reckon we'll take Dovaston.

People raging at this trade need to remember we got pick 23 for nothing....

We got it for having the worst four year period of any team since long before the competition went national.

If the AFL didn’t make it a condition that it had to be traded for a player, it was just another asset like anything else in our hand.

What’s our likely back 6 now? It would have to be looking pretty strong.
FB: Ginbey Edwards Hough
HB: Baker Young Starcevich

With McCarthy pushing up the ground. No room for Duggan or Cole in the starting lineup.

Or go small ball: swap Young for Ginbey as a KPD and add McCarthy for some dash.

Very happy to have Starcevich and hopefully the Allen compo will sort itself out.

The trade itself is a bit meh, pick 12 is nice but probably not where we would hope to have our 3rd pick considering the Gold Coast talk earlier. Hopefully another move to come. Think we are still all scared from that all time shocker last year, as good as Baker was this year.

We gave up a big asset for a player who is not a position of need. We simply picked a player up because he answered the phone as opposed to headhunted a positional need

While Geelong is out there saying "we need a ruck" and then getting Rowan Marshall to agree to join we seem to just be calling people up based on the basis that they know where Scarbarough Beach is and picking our targets based on whether they want to come home for a surf

If we were doing this properly we wouldnt have 2 defenders and a midfielder at the end of this trade period. We should have 2 midfielders and a ruck. If we tried to get that done but couldnt, sack the person who tried and failed and try again next year

Continuing to fail cos we tried isnt a excuse for failure when its all said and done. Its a results industry and not just a effort one. Until we start trading in players we need instead of those who like Scarbarough Beach we are not going anywhere as a club.

We need to get back to the days of trading Jack Redden in is the reality...

The ONLY players we are ever going to be able to head hunt and convince to join the club are either:
1. WA players who has had success or spend a large chunk of their career at a non WA club and is looking to return home
2. Mid to lower tier player who is looking for more opportunities

The solution is obvious. We march into Collingwood's war room tomorrow and demand Darcy Cameron. /s

Not sure I agree with this. Unless the concussion stuff is an issue later he will give great defensive stability for 8 years. We won't be playing Cole or Duggan types forever thank ****.

Do people actually think negotiating is like haggling over the price of potatoes at the local market?
That Clarke walks into the negotiating room and gets sweet talked into a bad deal?

More likely what happens is Eagles & Brisbane reps go into the meeting with what they want to give/receive in a trade, which would have been discussed and agreed in consultation with a larger team (Clarke, Massey, Shepard, Mini, Pyke, Woosha).

Unless their expectations align, the reps walk away from the meeting and consult with their team. Back & forth it goes.
You've got a lot more confidence in the system than i do. Unfortunately I think it really is amateur hour in a lot of these meetings.

I’d have the same, it will be very interesting to see what happens with the captaincy in the off season, I hope we move on from Duggan, he’s been a great club servant, but his best is in the rear view mirror.

Hoping Saint get Geelong first rounder for there ruckman pick 18
Then offer that to us for Liam Ryan

No doubt about it ROYAL EAGLE you are an absolute optimist.

Would love your idea to come to fruition.

Just can’t see SOS being as generous as you give him credit for.

Pick 12 may get us Josh Lindsay or Curtin or Farrow whereas they would have all probably been taken by pick 16

For obvious reasons (i.e. we actually own it) Pick 12 is getting the mock draft attention in here, but I really think it’s all going to GC for their pick (whichever of 6/7 stays with them post Flanders and Petracca deals).

and we haven't really seen Bo Allen as yet, he could turn out to be a stud or a spud...

I think the trade is even. Lions win due to the circumstances but Oscar for pick 2 will look a lot better (even if we were always getting pick 2)

Let’s hope Starcevich doesn’t play the State game and get a head knock. Will be a worry every game he runs out.
