List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)

Relative to what?

We got Starc for a 10 pick down grade in the 2nd round.

THATs what Starcevich cost. A pick downgrade. 23 to 33.

And also got pick 52 to trade or to match a bid or use.

So it didn't cost pick 23 to land him did it.
Not sure if your calculations are right... I think you've missed a pick.

Relative to the Lions who are getting two free agents and losing one. Are not losing any of their picks and also gaining picks whilst also being back to back premiers.

Again not saying we got fleeced. Not even saying we lost, just saying we didn't win and I think we could use some wins.

With the rookie list - does it play a factor if we are
Scott would be flattered to be considered the cream of the crop but I think Joel probably had him beat.
TBF - Scott was completely derailed by that ankle injury. Had a great 2012 season, and thought he could reach similar heights to Joel.

The way i'm breaking the trade down is

Pick 22
for
Starcevich & Dev (assuming they delist him)

Picks 16 and 23 (1577 points)
for
Picks 12, 33 & 52 (1564 points)

Once the picks slide due to Oscar we lose 32 points but

move up from 17 to 13
move down from 24 to 34
Gain an extra pick 53

When you look at it like this it was a very good deal for the club.
Need to add the band 1 compo guarantee to the Dev delisting.

Both of which were likely anyway, but paying a very minor price to guarantee them is good business.

What I’d love to hear at the end of the trade period is us saying there is no guarantee not to bid on Annable (obviously public statements will say that), and that clearly in the trading there was no value built in for that type of promise (I.e. Brisbane wanted to bargain hard, but didn’t negotiate all of the leverage - and hopefully we make them pay!!)

I don't think Dev will be delisted, he'll want certainty that he will get to a club (so will go to Dogs if not us). We'll probably trade him for some kind of late pick swap that preserves points for everyone.

Do you?

It's been a big couple of days but even these throw away lines I really find frustrating.
Yes. He coughed up #3 last year. NOT a throwaway line. Have you seen me anywhere complaining about yesterday's trade. Well stfu, then.

Starcevich is a great pick up imo, (caveat being his head knocks of course). Unlocks intriguing scenarios around Ginbey, Hough, Baker and McCarthy's utilisation. Durability aside I reckon he is a far better pure defender than Barrass personally. Heard nothing through this trade period about fixing our ruck situation which is the most dire position on our list.

I agree we need a ruck but more importantly we need an experienced midfielder above all else and it looks like we are not chasing one.

According to the rule, an out of contract 2nd year rookie refusing to take an extension contract (does not have to be delisted) is a delisted free agent.
(I would assume a 3rd year rookie is similar?)

He’s on Richmond’s senior list
