Solved Corby to be paroled?

I never thought I'd use this word outside the national anthem but:

Our Schapelle is girt by idiots.

- A former family lawyer has come out public and said she'll roll a big fat joint to celebrate
- Her first lawyer handled it wrong by mounting a massive media campaign protesting her innocence. All this has done is put the spot light and pressure on Indonesia to not look soft on drugs
- her family were unable to keep their traps shut either

If there's one thing the Indo's don't like is having foreigners interfere and piss them off. That "roll a joint" comment just puts her freedom at risk.

What is it the people who surround Schapelle don't get? Surely it's not that hard to realise they should say nothing and be as low profile as possible?

Michelle Leslie was advised by a good legal team who advised her: low profile, be humble and sorry, convert to muslim. There is a vast gap between smart people and dumb arses.

This, she had dreadful legal and media representation from the start, she would have served less than 5 if they had their heads screwed on. Don't **** with the Indo's self perception......they'll make you pay.

Also the lawyer who aired her comments this morning obviously has an issue with the family, there is now way she would say those comments if she was tight with them, I'm not sure it will impact her parole but it was ****ing stupid.....and she planned it, dead set bitch of the highest order.

Isn't there a law in Australia where you can't profit from a crime?

Deadset, if Corby is able to keep all the money from selling her story then that is complete horse shit.

Does that apply to convictions imposed by overseas Courts, or only Australian Courts? I imagine they'd have to have a lot of exceptions for overseas Courts. Imagine someone was convicted of whatever ludicrous charge by North Korean authorities, survived, was released, made it home, sold a book about it, had all proceeds from the book confiscated because according to their own laws, NK had convicted them of the crime they were now profiting from.

Maybe only if it's a crime you could be convicted of here? But then that should rule her out.

I doubt Chopper Read donated all the money made from his books to charity ;)

Actively surprised; my understanding is that in a reverse case, Australian authorities would boot from country and wash hands with a nice "And don't come back" note on their file. Certainly would not be thrilled about the idea of a prisoner that will eventually get deported bumming around the country on parole.

With any luck she will get caught with pot again and sent back to the slammer

And will probably contain very little of interest or that wasn't already known.

She will probably talk about the hell of living inside an Indonesian prison system.

Who screwed her, literally and figuratively and how the events played out.

If 7 were smart this would be brilliant way to get one up on the TV show coming out and discredit it.

There is a lot we dont know and I am sure a savvy interviewer will come up with some interesting and left field questions.

You can imagine her response will be analysed and dissected. She could easily get $1 to $1.5 M for this interview and she has to do it, simply because she comes from somewhat poor background and working here would be next to impossible without everyone asking her questions all the time about her case. The other issue is that probably now she has little or no money, easy way to set herself up forever.

Quite frankly the media obsession with a convicted drug smuggler is cringeworthy, this ch9 show will probably make her out to be innocent. I just don't care for Corby who did something wrong in a foreign country and cried wolf when she got caught

you can't proffit from a crime in this country anyway

anyone see the promos to the telemovie. the whole story will be told.
Finally the truth will be revealed:rolleyes:

I wait on the edge of my seat.

After all, it's easier to run away from the media screaming when you don't have to get out of your seat first.

Money was already frozen under this law from the book proceeds. They will find a way around it most likely like pay the money to her sister or something.
