Geez we need an alliance with UK and Europe and piss off the others...if only.Scott Morrison just gave a Press Conference about increased and concerted cyber attacks on Australian Government Departments and private institutions. He has said this is believed to be a State sponsored attack. He did not mention any suspects but I guess there is one obvious one.
This morning's COVID figures are slow in being released so I am wondering if there is a connection.
When asked what the motivation of the hackers was, Mr Morrison said 'it was difficult to pinpoint exactly what it might be'.
I might have an idea Scott. What country has Australia upset in recent times and what country has cancelled barley exports, questioned beef exports and warned their nationals not to travel to Australia for fear of racial abuse?
Standing on principle is one thing Scott but cutting off your nose despite your face is another and despite this morning's effort at telling us what a great job you are doing, that fact is we should have kept our collective mouth shut and let the big players argue the toss.

Iceland now feels like the coronavirus never happened
Visitors seeing Iceland's busy bars and tourist attractions might think the newly reopened country escaped Covid-19 entirely, but it's all thanks to a rigorous regime of tracking and tracingedition.cnn.com
Would that actually work. Let's say I catch the virus at Heathrow on the way to Iceland. I get tested 4-6 hours before I get tested, wouldn't I test negative?

Sounds like OzOn the subject of the mobile tracking apps the UK Government has ditched it's app and is going with the Google/Apple version as it is considered less invasive to personal privacy. I find it amazing the anything Google is associated with is considered less of a risk to privacy. The leap from Google trace to Google maps is not that hard to imagine. The UK Government is a bit of a joke re COVID. They spend months with an Isle of Wight trial which is approved then they suddenly decide it isn't for them and turn to a couple of the techno giants. This goes with the dithering over a response, the testing fiasco and the PPE shortages.

Why it's a big deal the UK changed to Apple-Google track and trace app
Apple and Google's API is more effective and more privacy-centric than the UK's original approach to track and trace appwww.standard.co.uk
Approximately 60% of britons don't trust a tracking app to share data and they are not likely to be re assured by anything Apple and Google have a hand in.
