Honestly, the closest we get to football posts on this thread are when everyone is arguing and someone says 'here's one thing we can all agree on - Sack Hinkley'. Fair enough I accept the decision. As with AFL Umoires all I ask for is a bit of consistency. I went back through 14 posts on the TRTT thread before I found any reference to the PAFC, even then that was something about Chris Davies and an air guitar but I am unsure if it is Port's Davies. I found plenty about Hogan's Heroes, Tonya Harding, The Beatles, Katrina Witt, Metallica and even Abel Tasman got a mention.

OK the COVID thread has been moved no issue there but you have to be consistent.

COVID affects us all and while this thread is clogged with mindless crap it does contain information that is relevant to us all. I have a feeling things are going to change is SA over the next few weeks and it would be nice to be able to access important information straight from the main board but I accept the decision and I ask for the umps to be consistent with their decisions.

But the satisfaction from knowing that I have 'triggered' the village idiot has made my day. Another win for 'the collective mob of swinging dicks'.

Just switching the topic here from Liam Jones being an anti vax whack job but I will miss him as a footballer because he gave me so many belly laughs with his mistakes and mistimed punches.

I know I will probably be in the minority here but Liam Jones was a terrible defender. I actually wondered how he he made it to the AFL I suspect he wasn’t picked up as a defender though

2 and 3 years ago I used to visit this site a lot to get historical trade stats and they use great graphics / data visualization to give representations by countries and products etc. It was developed by MIT. They have different colour codes for continents and apply that to countries in it. It has a complexity index which ranks Oz pretty low based on what we export. Not surprisingly Belgium is ranked over 50 places higher than Oz.

You have to pay a premium for up to date stats for the last 2 years but I saw this tweet about export sales just for July 2021 and you see Belgium have had a 1,050 times (105,000%) increase in vaccine exports compared to July 2018 thanks to the Pfizer/BioNTech plant(s) based there. I think July 2018 was a slow month for vaccine exports in Belgium.

Did you know that in 2021 Belgium exported more vaccines than the US and China combined?
With over $19.6 billion USD in exports, Belgium became a juggernaut of vaccine trade. But China and the US are not too far behind. With nearly $9.4 billion and $4.9 billion in exports respectively, these three countries have become the global leaders in vaccine manufacturing.

Since the approval of the first COVID vaccine in November 2020, vaccine exports have grown 43,000% in China, 3,200% in Spain, 693% in Russia, 601% in the US, and 478% in Belgium.

Vaccine exports can also give us a peek at the geopolitics of international collaboration. Around 46% of Belgium's vaccine exports end in Europe, mainly in Germany ($3.4B) and the UK ($0.8B). But a significant portion of Belgium's vaccine exports has also gone to Asia (30%), especially to Japan ($1.9B).

China's recent vaccine exports went primarily to Indonesia ($1.16B), Pakistan ($0.73B) and Turkey ($0.56B), whereas the US has also been supplying mostly North America (44%) and South America (30%), with Canada ($1.63B), and Brazil ($0.93B) as top destinations.

COVID's economic impact extends beyond vaccines.

The pandemic is changing global trade and in more ways than we can imagine. Did you know that in August 2021, China out exported the US by more than 2 to 1? Or that in May 2020, China exported more than $10B USD worth of face masks? This is as large as China's cellphone exports in a good month!
