Could some teams do with a bit of re-branding?

Yeah, i dunno, mate. Personally, I think the intro and Freo heave-ho was always the best part. The new version is somehow even more cheesy and naff, even without the "dock dock dockers" bit, and just an over all mess. Too many ridiculous guitar solos!

I agree, I think if the freo heave ho was added in the middle and the song had the final interlude to build up like the original it would be perfect , maybe 2 mins in total length.

I might even have a play with a chop and change to extend the theme song. To be honest, it seems like TNT gets more play time than our on theme song.

There are thousands of types of dogs.

Bulldogs are one type of dog.

Footscray chose The Bulldog as their mascot. Not Jack Russels or any other type of dog. A ####ing Bulldog.

The Western Bulldogs are the Bulldogs. There's no other option besides Western. That's the way it will stay.

What other choice to they have?

Nothing. They don't need to change because they are the Bulldogs.

West Coast weren't allowed to be called WA (because of the SOO team) or Perth (because of the Perth Demons in the WAFL).

Which is why West Coast was picked.

Since the proposed Rugby League team doesn't have that restriction I have no idea why they are suggesting that it should be called West Coast.

It's an organic nickname which developed after the club had already played games.

Carlton wore blue and their players were thus called the Blues.

The West is booming in melbourne, the fastest growing region in Australia in regards to new dwellings. Why on earth the Bulldogs would ever consider changing their name I wouldn't know, outcome would not not be favourable.

Western Eagles could have been used. Then the Bulldogs would have remained Footscray.
West Coast Eagles - sound like an American Clothing brand... but I've grown to like it.

Quite a ridiculous restriction actually. Not sure people would confuse the Perth Demons wearing black and red with the Perth Eagles wearing blue and yellow and playing in a different league. Especially considering so many American teams share a location (eg LA Clippers/LA Lakers)

As the title suggests, I think some teams could change their image/name/mascot/brand etc.

Western Bulldogs need it the most. They have done so in the past, changing from Footscray to "Western". The problem with this is... where the hell is Western? ... oh you mean the west suburbs of Melbourne? They want to represent all the western suburbs (hence the prior name change), so why not: West Melbourne? To a lesser extent, change "bulldogs" to just "dogs". That way they broaden their appeal imo, instead of having a fuking bulldog which has stuff-all appeal for christ's sake. West Melbourne Dogs.

Hawthorn to change brown/yellow to maroon/yellow (which is the way they've gone anyway, might as well change to a true maroon).
Port, drop the teal and just give us light blue.
Eagles, instead of yellow, white and dark blue, just use medium yellow and medium blue.

Why?
Game day experience will mean sell outs as a marketing strategy draws bigger crowds.
Cheaper pies will draw bigger people to the MCG and Etihad only on a Sunday.

Rebranding: fair dinkum .... would not put one bum on any seat anywhere anytime.
