I would take Croad over Eddie McGuire anyday.

We did not trade him, we had the foresight to see the value of Luke Hodge, we leased him to Fremantle and them got him back. I do believe we also got Sam Mitchell in the deal, we got pick 1 and 36, I seem to remember.

St Kilda don't have the balls to do that, they have been peahearts for 111 of their 112 years in the AFL/VFL.

Maguire at best would never come close to the talent Croad has.

Maguires best is better than Croad's however the poll is stupid as Maguire hasn't played for ages so obviously points will go to Croad because people only remember and look at recent form on Bigfooty when judging a player.

Croad is a great player, but Maguire pre-injury was hardly a dud.

I thought this thread would see some non anti-hawthorn posts, but you cannot even escape it in here. I dont think there is one thread where there is more support for a hawthorn player than the "other one." the thread could be Hawthorn player vs Chicken Manure and the majority would pick the chicken crap.

Even the Harris vs Mitchell reprise thread saw people saying Harris is better value then mitchell.

thats the point, look at the responses, it is all "if goose wasnt injured" despite no significant proof it is a correct theory, more a case of "oh, croad is at hawthorn"

you cannot deny the fact noone has seen goose at his peak to say he would be better...

im am not saying it is because they "hate" hawthorn. I am saying it is baffling to say his best is better, as Croad was just as good during the same period, and infact was AA.

I believe the Op also notes the anti-hawthorn sentiment in many threads, posting this as it obviously has only one answer (due to goose's injury)
