44,470 - brilliant!
Exactly why is this good ....isn't the capacity 55K

Sh.t if you ask me .....way too many no-shows .....too many empty seats that could be sold at the last minute

Something has to be done

Massive effort that!

Biggest crowd GWS has ever played in front of. Previous best was 38K
 Huh?

20% down on ground capacity

Maybe check out previous easter Sunday games.
yeah yeah know .... but don't advertise the game as a sellout ....it clearly was no-where near it, more like a AAMI stadium crowd

They have to find a way of letting more people see each game by selling empty seats

It's the fundamental problem of 1 member = 1 seat ....it's bullshit in this day & age

I don't disagree with you.
But 44k for that time slot is outstanding

Someone woke up grumpy. 44K against the lowest drawing club in the league in the worst timeslot imaginable is a fantastic crowd

Very proud of the 19th man today, a brilliant crowd of 44,770, this just shows the power of adelaide oval, to get a crowd only 3000 less than our first home game crowd is fantastic!

Anyone who says its not is a clown. This time slot is the worst in the whole year.

The corresponding game got 28000 last year, that says it all.

Most importantly, we had our 1st win at Adelaide Oval!

This is the thing. Last home game against the children drew less than 30K. Adelaide Oval is proving to be the goods.

Have the AFL been pushing up the crowds this year?
For Port I thought 47k, they came out and say 50k
For Sydney I thought 40k, they came out and say 47k
For GWS I thought 35k, they came out and say 44k

The crowd was much better than I expected; I wonder did we go TOO good?
I worry the AFL will think we're making this timeslot our own; and will give it to us from here on out till the end of time.

All those crowds seemed about right to me

I did have that same thought after the game about us doing too well with this crowd today and like you said the AFL making the easter Sunday timeslot ours.

I told a mate after the port and swans game, the only way the crowds could be as stated was if the Eastern stand was 100% full. As I sit in the East, I can't tell, but looking at the West/South/North, I feel my estimations would be correct if the East is as dense as the other areas.

I was in the bottom of the southern stands where it looked empty on TV but there were a tonne of people standing at the end of the last row for the entire match because it's close to the bar.

Got easter eggs and a hot cross bun.

Today was my first time and the oval and it was pretty much perfect. Our seats are awesome, the hill is awesome, food and drink lines were quick, Magarey Room for after match function was nice, 20 minute walk to the ground from home. All good stuff.

The only bad part was trying to get from the hill to my seat (bottom level, middle of the eastern stand) at half time. Was just a gridlock of people. Need some way to organise the queues better. Oh and all the 19th Man rubbish.
