So no change there. No surprise.

1. Campbell dropped, after one game.

2. Shirley back in, yes, he will guide us to our next premiership.

3. Douglas back after an average SANFL game last week.

4. WHERE THE FREAKING HECK IS PFEIFFER?

5. Pfeiffer isn't even an emergency.

6. Jericho is an emergency.

 :thumbsd:  :thumbsd:  :thumbsd:

I agree 83% with this post. Douglas should be played regardless if he is considered our future star midfielder.

I actually saw a few positives out of the team. Bock named at CHB, Mattner on a wing and McGregor FF. I just hope they line up like that.

And I think if we lose the game this week we are then more likely to see a lot more youth come in to the side over the final few weeks. Yes we are right up against it to make finals but it is still possible. Very unlikely, and I give us next to no chance, but it is possible. We also want to beat Port. If ever there is a game we want to win it is this one.

Wow.... What a time to come in... sorta like walkin into a party just as a couple are havin a massive argie and everyone else is standing there uncomfortably.....

Think they are pretty predictable changes, if we knock off the Alberscum we are back in the race for the eight if not then  we are blooding kids for the rest of the year so of course we were gonna bring in Shirley and Porplyzia

I do think that Campbell was pretty harshly done by but...

I don't think anyone disagrees with that, but since when has AFL selection been all sugar and spice like Drummond wants it to be?

Porplyzia comes in quite clearly. He is in the best 22 and kicked 4 goals from the midfield last week. An OBVIOUS selection.

You'd say that Shirley is 'lucky' to be back in, but I'm happy for him to be playing in a Showdown that requires experience. Cambell will get his chance again, he got a good taste of it last week.

And Douglas comes in too. That's fine with me.

All these guys will get games.

They contributed the same. Douglas had 8 possessions and 4 marks against Fremantle with 88% disposal efficiency. Campbell had EXACTLY the same stats against Essendon, only with a little less game time. So you tell me why Craig would even bother to make this change? He obviously couldn’t go another week without his love child in the team.

As I said before I think Douglas is a far better long term option than Bryce. The Adelaide MC obviously agree.

So we’ve given away the season, and want to see young guys given a go, so 27 year old Robert Shirley comes in over 19 year old Pfeiffer who is in red hot form?

I said I didn't agree with that, but I'll deal with it. I also see you deleted the sentence where I said I didn't agree with Shirley coming back in. Good one.

Oh that’s far from being the ONLY joke this week. The whole thing is a joke.

Get over it. You sound pathetic.

ppfffttttt!! :D:D

good changes IMHO :thumbsu:

maybe dougie will get a better run on the ball

I'm not surprised. We have lost Reilly this week and we need some experience in there - we dropped our least experienced midfielder. Douglas, Porps back in along with Shirley; it's all about finding the balance between youth and experience - we aren't out of the finals race yet don't forget.

Agree with you two guys that the changes are good ones.

Personally I like the line-up and believe we have a great chance of knocking off Port this week. :thumbsu:

Drummond - give it a break. This is the AFC not the benevolent team for Norood players. Campbell did nothing special last week to hold out either Douglas or Porps. As for Pfeiffer his time will come and once it does I expect that he will become a long-termregular.

You're acting like an hysterical BigFooty version of Zach from Big Brother and the game hasn't even been played - time to give it a rest IMO.

Maybe a showdown where our season is on the line wasn't seen as an ideal game to debut someone. Would be a huge amount of pressure on Pfeiffer if he came in

I think our main worry in this game is our legspeed versus Port. The inclusions arent going to add that extra speed but the experience is good. Hopefully we can cause a massive upset, but Drummond might start supporting us again if we do

Taking away the fact that he supports norwood

he does raise an interesting point

I would suggest that Douglas is in as a midfilder and Pfiefer is a defender ?

But he doesn’t need to go off half cocked like some dingbat about it

:D :D

What about his love child Richard Douglas? Waits one week before Craigy gives him a recall. What a long wait he had.

You don't think our season is over? Even if it wasn't over, how is playing Pfeiffer throwing away the season?

I know everyone is getting stuck into Drummnd but I couldn't agree more. Lets face it we are not going to go from 12th to a flag in 9 weeks. There needs to be some imagination and ricks taking by the selectors and a more long term focus.

The fact that Shirley is selected ahead of Pfeifer is a joke, surely Pfeifer is the better player regardless of how many AFL games he has played. The selection of Shirley is a defensive moev and is one of the reason we are sitting 12th at the moment. the coahing panel and game plan is way too defensive and low risk.

The way were are ggoing we are going to finsih every season between 6th and 12th for the next decade.

Oh wells! Still 4 more games after this for Pfeiff & Meese to have a shot.

I know everyone rips on Drum for his Legs bias (which is over the top I admit), but from the other perspective, can't you understand his frustration at none of his Legs players getting a good shot at it? All of them are so close yet seem so far from getting their chance to unleash. Campbell only got half a game and is dropped.

Ok to expand on my initial post:

1. Why did Bryce Campbell even make his debut last week? He had 54% game time and had 8 possessions, 4 marks and 88% disposal efficiency. Ironically these were the exact same stats as Douglas the week earlier, so to drop Cambell and recall Douglas makes absolutely no sense at all. In his interview with FiveAA Campbell said he barely slept the 3 days prior to making his debut so to drop him after his first game is just senseless. What a way to shatter his confidence.

2. Why is Robert Shirley back in the team? He had a whopping 7 possessions against the Dockers (should mention that was LESS than Campbell last week) and was subsequently dropped, which was the correct call. Yet after not playing at any level last week, he’s back, after 1 week on the sidelines. Aren’t we meant to be looking to the future, not looking back at dead wood?

3. Why is Richard Douglas back after being out of the side for one week? He had 20 possessions and a goal last week for Glenelg, and wasn’t named in his sides best players. So he played a reasonable game, but hardly outstanding and deserving of a recall. So why was he even dropped in the first place if he was always going to come straight back in?

4. Those who are bagging me for wanting Pfeiffer in the team should just give it a break. If any of you have actually seen him over the past 3 weeks you would realise he’s thoroughly deserving of making his debut this week. In the past 3 weeks he’s been best, 2nd best, best. Now our great coach is all for making the youngsters “earn” their place in the side well hasn’t he done just that? Seems he’s got double standards, one for Douglas and one for Pfeiffer.

5. Why isn’t he even in the squad of 25? Do we have any talent recognition at this club?

6. How on earth is Jericho in the squad of 25, when he has been hands down beaten by Pfeiffer over the past 3 weeks? Good to see Luke will be around next year as he definitely offers this club so much hardness and courage.

atleast tredrea isnt playing. rutten and tredrea cancel each other out.. disappointed that pfeiffer isnt playing, getting really sick of neil craigs bland and boring selections that get us nowhere
