What stones?

I personally don't have a problem with resources re umpiring etc going towards the higher grades as they prop up the lower ones in other ways.

My comment was more to point out that those with limited time who have to prioritize as they can't attend every event.

Personally didn't attend as I have no grievances to raise.

Limited time!!!!!!!!! Give me a break. One meeting in the off season other than the VAFA AGM! Surely someone could have got there or sent in a submission response to West Brunswick letter. So you had the time but no grievances - terrific leadership. What about the issue of rotating senior A/B umpires through the lower 4 grades on a rolling weekly basis - happy with all umpires getting a "one off" double pay day" which cost the clubs approx. $25k - new points ideas instead of fines [you won't know about this one] etc.

It is no wonder the lower division clubs don't get a look in with your attitude - "Not seen and not heard!" Bet you [+2] went to the season launch where there was nothing to be gained. Lower division clubs need to take the extra step and be present at every opportunity. That is what being a true volunteer president is all about.

I see Ruck Machine just deleted his own post that said that he could confirm that Box Hill North WERE NOT INVITED? Well I hope rucky is not on the committee b/c all VAFA clubs were invited to 1] Write a submission on any concerns/issues etc 2] Submissions were then sent out to all clubs 3] All clubs invited to the follow up discussion evening in October. All was done through the club secretary? Finger right on the pulse at BHN?

Correct, I have removed my post becuase I pulled the trigger too early. Still researching. Will keep you posted.

Ruck Machine - tell me it isn't true that you boys start pre-season early November twice a week?

Or is that the new norm for clubs at this level? Makes for a long season (and knees in your case old boy!)

Unfortunately, November and December are the best months for recruiting new players. I'll bet that most clubs know whether they will be better or worse than the previous season before Xmas rolls around. I've always thought it should be banned, but if you want to get quality players you have to get in early.

If your team has been average for a while why would you not try to work harder for longer to get better?

VAFA have announced the sides in this division today.

Box Hill North
Canterbury
Chadstone
Manningham
Masala
Mt.Lilydale
Nth.Brunswick
Parkside
Point Cook
Sth Mornington
Westbourne

11 team comp - very different looking one to the last season.

Out: Dragons, West Brunswick, Hawthorn
IN: Masala, Mt.Lilydale, Parkside, Sth. Mornington

I would be assuming the same as 2013 season where it was 2 byes each, 16 Games played in normal season over 18 rounds, with a top 6.

Good couple of bus trips in there too.

Early tips?

Westbourne will be hard to beat - big recruit in with Dale Collins as a playing assistant coach

Top 3 (in no order)
Westbourne - too many Dale Collins on Google - who is he & what has he done?
Canterbury
Manningham

a gap possibly

BHN
Nth Brunswick
Point Cook

another gap possibly

Masala (don't know anything about them)
South Mornington
Parkside
My Lilydale
Chadstone (great job if they get themselves up again)

Really need to watch the clearances in the new year to get a better idea, although numbers don't equal quality.

Are any of the new teams on here yet? Are any of them likely to come in & have a significant impact straight away?

i would expect Masala to struggle after a single win in clubbies last year(albeit the top grade). They started i believe as a team made up of players from the Indian AFL international cup team, but have become a far more multicultural community team.
I wouldnt be surprised if Mt Lilydale had an instant impact.

Think both cobras will be dangerous. Westbourne should be therabouts you'd imagine. 4th and 5th will be interesting. Box hill nth perhaps?

See Westbourne announced Brayden Smith on thier facebook page. He has a pretty good reputation in the local area as a gun.

Looks like they are very active.

Tabletennis I'm pretty sure what I have figured out by watching you over the past few posts, all you do is worry about everyone else. How about just worrying about point cook as I'm pretty sure your a committee member there..I have seen you on all different leagues posts just complaining about what everyone else is doing. Who cares who Westbourne have picked up worry about what's going on down the kennel..

Well your wrong. Not a committee member, and how am I complaining?

Westbourne are announcing this on thier public page.

So fail to see how relaying news is an issue. Pumping them up more than anything.

If there is news good or bad, what's the issue?

Its good for our competition, rather than having strengthen clubs involved in the rubbish competition that neighbors us.

Enjoy your time in the sun MS

Ok not a committee member just senior football manager.. Got that wrong sorry

I understand it's public news just feels like your underlining these players so other clubs do research to try and get the upper hand or to take the light away from point cook. I think it's great for this competition also for players of this calibre to jump onboard but how many other clubs in the league have you watched as closely as Westbourne.. Who has everyone else picked up?

If you have been reading my posts, you would have seen I have already asked that question.

And seriously, what are clubs from the other side of town going to do research wise to negate these players when they won't know who to look for?

So what's your real issue?

The issue that you felt the need to open a new account to address me pumping up a rival club?

Or is it that your a double agent?

Not a double agent just got sick of the dribble you produce so I thought I would throw my 2 bob in finally

What dribble in particular worries you, because I've been rather inactive. Couple of posts on here and a couple on Worst run footy league div 3 page.
So there must be something specific that concerns you.
Please enlighten us, because at the moment you just look like someone having a dip at someone discussing football topics on a football forum.

Who is speaking dribble?
