Yep, thanks for highlighting this.

Been really pleased with Wellsys form since coming back from injury.

Finally adding that elusive consistency to his game, good on him.

Only disappointment has been his accuracy in front of goal. Once he betters that, he'll be devastating.
 
Isn't it funny that his form got better soon as he realized that his contract was up?;)

I think he's stopped trying to play classy. You look at how desperate he is at the footy at the moment and it isn't always pretty but it gets results. If he continues in this vein the confidence will come and he'll dominate.

Interesting you say this yet he has played well the last 3 weeks (according to your stats) and we have won only one of the 3 games...

Is it me or does something not add up right..... Unless of course you need 12 (we would need another 6 wins) wins to make the finals and there is still 18 games left....Then It makes complete sense...:confused:

I'm glad Daniel Wells isn't still almost about to do something.
 
Has been pretty good, not great.

Given his reputation and the time he's been at the club, I wouldn't be happy with less than what we're seeing now. Hopefully he continues to go to another level in the next few weeks. If he comes out with another 15-touch game in a disappointing loss to Port it will be back to square one.
 
Most of his posessions are cheap ones on the wing or loose ones in defence.

Averaging 4.7 contested possessions and 2.3 clearances over the past 3, which are good contested stats (only Simmo and Harris average more than 2.3 clearances over the year).

I don't think he has been sensational yet, but he is getting the ball enough and he is doing some hard things, so it is looking good. He only has 5 behinds in the past three weeks all of which have been gettable shots he has just sprayed.

Something seems to have changed since the Bulldog game - which was his best of the year, god he was looking on fire - 18 possessions (4 contested), 2 inside 50s, 4 clearances up until he got injured. Very happy to see he has slipped back into it well, but he hasn't hit that Bulldog form yet.

Yeah, first half of the Bulldog's game was insane. He was making a quick side look like plodders. Brought his own footy.

I reckon he has been ok since coming back.

Good on wellsy for doing all the 1per centers but we have enough players that already do that we need him to be the flash that gets the ball and hits targets in our forward line.
He needs to take it on more show some balls and embarress his oppenent a bit.

Cozz harris and simmo give him the ball to kick cozz hes got great skill. Dont get on the piss too much tonyt ai. haha

That will come in time though IMO. The self-motivation we're seeing at the moment has been sought after from him for a long time, I just hope he maintains it.
 
What has impressed me about Wells this season is his ability to play well with injury.:thumbsu:
 
Yes, and amazingly I haven't seen 10 threads a week on the main board about how overrated Daniel Wells is in that time. Deafening silence, actually.

Him averaging that amount of contested possessions is pretty damn good considering he normally gets knocked off the ball by bigger blokes. You can't bag him for getting "cheap" possies, he uses it better than anyone on our team, so of course they're going to be looking for him. Give it to him every time and we might win some more games!
