I was kidding lol.
Haha.
Given some of the posts around here lately, it was actually half believable.

Dean Warren clearly said that is the offer -at this stage-.Except there is a difference between starting negotiations with "this is my offer", and starting them with "this is my only offer - you aren't getting any more... I'll just walk away" - which is what I'm hearing coming out of the Brisbane camp in the media. (I would hope that's not how their actual offer goes behind closed doors - because that will end very quickly and Dayne will have another year in Melbourne... but I don't see the point of coming out so strongly in the media... compare it to Hines/Bucks who have been careful to be very vague but also open to discussion - which is how the public side of these things should go until you are close to a deal)

I could paraphrase the Buckley response as "I will only do the trade if we get Danger we aren't getting any less... I'll just walk away" but that is not what he actually said.
Both clubs are just going through the motions right now.
- 5X800k is a lot of coin and would head turn a lot of blokes
The two answers are in no way mutually exclusive.http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-ne...ingwood-star-dayne-beams-20140929-10nhrm.html
"There's no way in the world we are going to trade our young talent."
You can't look at it that way.
Sure, 800K might seem like a lot of money to you and it certainly is a lot of money for me.
But is it a lot of money for Beams?
What would he be paid at Collingwood if he stayed? ... Hardly peanuts. Any extra $ he'd get by going to Brisbane, take out 10% which goes to his manager, then another 45% which goes to the taxman.
I'm confident that his quality of life will be changed more by being up in Brisbane and being around his family ... Than it would getting extra disposable income of, I dunno, $50K?

GWS getting reamed hard. With Patfull on his way to the Giants or Sydney I think it's a good way to get them involved.
Pies lose: Beams, 28
Pies gain: pick 4, Mitchell
Bris gain: Beams, 28
Bris lose: Pick 4, Leuenberger, Patfull
Syd gain: Leuenberger, Patfull
Syd lose: Mitchell
Or
Pies gain: Hoskin-Elliott, O'Rourke, 24
Pies lose: Beams, 45
Bris gain: Beams, 45
Bris lose: pick 4, 24, Patfull
GWS gain: pick 4, Patfull
GWS lose: Hoskin-Elliott, O'Rourke
Brisbane know they have to make a credible offer just as much as Collingwood know they are not getting Danger.Might be a fairly brief convo if pick 4 and an ex-rookie pick is Brisbane's idea of upping the offer from pick 4 alone...

800k isn't much to you? What a churl.
I think 3% is more the manager fee.

I said 800k is a lot for me
(but I'm not Dayne Beams)
I do remember reading once it was 10%
Pick 4 and WHE, i'd do than in a heartbeat. We wont get a better offer than that.Patfull and O'Rourke are of similar value so it's basically Hoskin-Elliott for pick 4 which is maybe slightly unders
I'm not expecting Dangerfield as he is contracted. If he wanted to come, and he hasn't said he does, I can't imagine we'd be hanging on to all of the young South Australians on our list.
Dean Warren's only dealing with the media atm mate... Hine hasn't heard from him yet. So ATM he can bang his chest and make all the big statements he wants, but in the end he's gonna have to satisfy the HINEMEISTER and that's where the game will get interesting. Hine just calmly pointed out "yep we have a contract with Dayne"....the ball is totally in Brisbane's court.
And didn't Bucks say he'd take pick 4 and Hanley? That was my recollection.
If he wanted to come, I think Scharenberg and pick 4 is a good deal for him, not as good as pick 2 and 3 Melbourne will offer but if he said strictly he wants to come to Collingwood that would be my offer for him.
Doubt Adelaide would like it though, pick 4 (don't know who it is) and a bloke who would be out for the season next year and would have missed two full AFL seasons through injuries.
Scaharenbergs value would have diminished big time after that ACL injury on top of the two feet surgeries he had.
He did his ACL in august so he could be back before May.I've been wondering about Scharenberg. Do we have an estimate on when he'll be back? An ACL does not take 12 months, it's more like 6 months, so he should be able to play by about the middle to late season. Look at Falcao - he did his ACL in about January and was almost in the Colombian World Cup squad.
That is a massive slap by Hine and Collingwood showing the football world that Warren/Brisbane have not have the decency to speak to the very club that Beams is still contracted to.
