At the end of this season we know that a certain number of players will have to be delisted as per AFL rules. Which players on our list have the most to fear from this fate and have to prove the most this year?

My start:

Paul Hudson Not that he has done anything wrong but I see Huddo struggling for senior game time this year. At this stage, Houlihan and Krakouer will get games ahead of him.

Craig Biddiscombe Only gets a game as a mid-sized defender or tagging midfielder. Seems to have been pushed back down the line by Ty Zantuck and doesn't have the class of Torney or Chaffey or Fiora. It was ominous that Newman got more game time in the Wizz Cup than Bidders.

Ezra Poyas It must be so frustrating for Poyas - he has been right on the fringe now for two full seasons. Was given game time in the Wizz Cup but wasn't allowed to have an extended run in the middle where we need to be.

Scott Homewood May be given more time to develop but is last in line of tall defenders.

Andrew Mills Hasn't really impressed me in the time he has had in the seniors. A definite one on the last chance!

I will be watching these with interest this year, though I feel that Poyas is the most likely to pull through (and the least deserving to be on this list)

;) So the sharks are circling already eh Chris ?

bare this in mind :-

1. we have 36 places filled (with Knights on the veteran list)
and we're allowed 38. That's 2 spots
2. Campbell goes on the veteran list in 2002. that's 3 spots.

So there's 3 draft picks without dumping anyone.

But our salary cap is so tight it's held down with occy straps. SOOOOOO : to get 3 amazing 18 yo's on the list i'd say lose Huddo and Bidders...then we can afford to draft 5 kids.
Drop Homey ? Only 8 biguns ? No, if anything I reckon we need a couple more.

Forget trading too much..Essendon, Port and Brisbanes best are all kids they drafted and developed...our best are the same sorta thing ; Ottens, hall, Fiora, Krakeour, Rodan, zantuck.

great thread Chris !!
:) :) 2 smileys

Poyas

Gee CJH, I think your being a bit hard on Poyas, I reckon given the chance this guys gonna be brilliant. I have a sneaking suspicion that this might be Knights's last year. Just a thought!!

Maybe I am being a bit too hard on Poyas - I did um and ar before I put him up there - but he needs to consolidate a spot in the team soon because we can't carry him for too much longer.

If we finish any less than 4th (after the finals) I would agree that Knights will have to go - and for that matter, Campbell too.

We are at the stage where we must think "Premiership" and we must be ruthless in our pursuit of this.

Also, though Rogers has been good for us - save for last year - he too would want to have a big one as well this year!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I think Campbell will not be delisted ... surely they would have thought long time about appointing Campbell captain. If he can't help us win a premiership in future years well surely they would have thought of that. Nope I don't believe you ;).

Though perhaps Knights time is up.

Hmmm RF1.

Once again I have come home fuming at the amazing vanishing act of our captain when the game is at it's hottest.

I have come to the conclusion that Campbell's only use now is to play on the wing or as a half back flanker.

I don't think we are really going to compete with the big boys unless we add more grunt right into the middle - something that Campbell simply didn't provide.

Knighter was OK tonight, but the light is starting to fade on him as well.

Vote 1 Poyas and Coughlan!

What! Are you psycho? :D :D :D

Everyone knows that elves are tall and slender, just like Fiora, Tivendale and Hall! :D

I think you meant dwarves like Roden!

We really can carry Roden - again he did show a heap tonight. On the other hand, Ednie probably has the same problem as Proctor. All the ability and ball skils but 20kgs too light.
