Frawley was our best player, an AA defender in a horrible Dees team who went on to be a vital cog in a premiership dynasty at Hawthorn.

Ben McKay is a ******* plodder.

Edit: The whole "pick out of nothing" compensation for free agency is a bit of a scam IMO.

I'm pretty sure they factor in where the club is at too, i feel like that was mentioned when it happened to us. Like poaching a key back in a s**t team that's going to leave a hole regadless if passable or elite player.

Frawley is different but when he went it was still seen as a decent player leaving a shite team for the premier... which if we where compensated with a late first rounder would have looked fairly unequal from the AFL considering Hawthorn just stocked up their side from talent by the bottom end team. Just looks like the s**t teams stay down to keep the good teams up... which is a look the AFL want to avoid so they probs will go over to compensate

No issue with north getting McKay. We are the last club to rag on others for getting afl assistance (Although we can laugh at all the north fans who potted us as a handout club and now are begging the AFL for help).
