This was an article in Herald Sun. Not a bad read but nothing too dramatic....... except this for me.
"Next year you'll see a different Melbourne Football Club" Davey said.
Is it wrong that this firms the loins? Cos if it is...I dont wanna be right. Finally, I'm hearing something definite. Something with conviction. Not the usual 'learning to compete' line that we've heard for years.
Bring on 2010, and bring on Davey as Captain.

AARON Davey has issued a warning to those who mock Melbourne's development: get ready for the resurgence.
This year's best-and-fairest winner, who has been elevated to the club's leadership group, said the Demons had laid the platform to start their climb up the AFL ladder.
"Next year you'll see a different Melbourne Football Club," Davey said.
"I think we're still maybe a couple of years away from reaching our full potential. But we've had the best of the last two drafts, we got Jack Watts and Liam Jurrah, and now the two best kids in the country in (Jack) Trengove and (Tom) Scully.
"It's very exciting times and I'm really, really excited to be a part of it because I know the club's going in the right direction, which is the most important thing."
Davey, 26, signed a four-year deal in October, rejecting interest from Essendon and Fremantle to stay with Melbourne.
His faith was rewarded with a spot on the seven-man leadership panel, and the mercurial midfielder admitted he would jump at the chance to captain the Demons in the future.
"You'd be silly not to want to do that," Davey said.
"We've got a great captain in James McDonald, but if the chance ever came up, I'd be more than happy to put my hand up.
"It would be something special to have an indigenous guy, the oldest Australian people, be the captain of the oldest Australian football club.
"Being one of the more older and more experienced players now, you tend to be a leader anyway, so it's great to be in the leadership group.
"But nothing for me will change. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and try to keep inspiring my teammates on the field."
Davey has played a pivotal role in easing the transition of indigenous youngsters to the club, acting as a mentor to Jurrah, Austin Wonaeamirri, Neville Jetta and Jamie Bennell.
"We all come from a similar backgrounds and I'm the oldest, so I tend to be the one they all look up to and respect," Davey said.
"They live around the corner from my house and I pick them up for training and all that.
"I think it's good to give someone like Austin Wonaeamirri the responsibility now. In four years' time he could be in the same position as me."
Davey said he had been impressed by his brief meetings with top draft picks Scully and Trengove.
"They are very respectful and pretty shy," he said.
"Years ago you'd have blokes walking in and shooting their mouth off and being a bit chirpy. Chatting to Jack, he seems like a really nice kid.
"The club is in very good shape with those two coming along."
