I know the games not over, but it getting difficult to watch anymore of this shit...

I'd like to start with a short story:
I recently changed the credit cards and a few weeks later received a letter from the melbourne football club stating that there was a problem with my payment plan (i pay by the month and have since i was 18). I put the letter aside with the intention of sorting it out later in the week when i wasnt so busy.
A few days later i received another letter from the club requesting i pay my outstanding membership fee. I put this next letter on my desk with the intension of sorting it out when i returned from holiday.
Upon returning from holiday i had received 2 more letter asking that i pay my membership fee and that they had suspended my membership card. Even though i never use my membership card as i hate going to games, I promptly filled out the form sent to me with my new card details and sent to off in the mail that day.
3 weeks later have heard nothing from the club but on my bank statement it shows the club has taken the outstanding funds from my account.

This club hounded me for weeks about my membership money, i have been a member for 8 years.

Now the club serves up this shit. If this were any other product i would ask for my money back due to poor quality.

I cant watch players such as Scully, Morton and Sylvia run around like they dont give a shit.
To watch the West Coast forwards taking countless marking inside 50.
To watch our player **** up simple field kicks time after time after time...
Every broken tackle and missed handball just breaks my heart

I have come to the realisation just now that we just arent a good team. Our footskills are today have been the worst i have seen in any game i can remember watching.

I am more disappointed and embarrassed today than any day during the dark years..

To sit back and watch the Bombers game this week, a team that i hate more than any other team was horrible, they dont really have many 'good' but somehow this year they come out play with heart and play well, they grind out games..

The really sad thing is that every week i tune in thinking that our boys will give their best efforts and play well.. they rarely do.

We are fast becoming soulless irrelevant club... if we arent already one.

-Howe, Blease, Frawley and Petterd.

- Most players never gave up and actually pegged the lead back for once as opposed to throwing in the towel

Bad:

General skill level was below VFL level for most of the match

The difference between Ling and Bartram is Ling would have walked off today with 3 goals. There's not much room left for an out and out tagger, you've got to do something offensively.

Just a couple of thoughts from the other side, Howe really impressed me. First time ive seen him play but was probably your best player. Demons were good at getting a third man up into most contests in out F50 either spoiling or stopping our forwards getting a clear jump at the ball. And finally, when your players ran the ball and moved forward with purpose they were able to easily get scoring chances.

Very true, he still got a vote from me but he would have been our best player had he kicked straight. He got one vote because unlike everyone else for most of the game he put himself in a position to get those shots on goal.

Also 2qtrs of good football 1 ok & 1 pathetic still doesn't make it an acceptable performance by any stretch of the imagination.

Good post BS ^^. Throughout that second quarter all I kept thinking to myself was why I even bother investing all my emotion into this club.

Good - second quarter they showed a bit.

Bad - I love Bartram and I love his attack on the football, but he has to improve his kicking. I don't care if he spends all pre-season learning how to kick a football. A player who can't kick past 30 metres is a liability.

Our structures are also the worst in the competition. Our forward line doesn't exist. We can't get through a press on the re-bound. Our kick-ins are still a joke.

Fugly - Cale Morton. Can he actually do anything well? That's a serious question because his kicking is ordinary, he is slow, he doesn't mark particularly well, he doesn't spoil, he doesn't contest, he doesn't create space, he doesn't close space, he doesn't sheppard and he's skinnier than Miranda Kerr. He was a pick 4 and has shown glimpses of potential in past years, but I think we have to cut our losses with him and trade him out for whatever we can get, because at the moment, and for the foreseeable future, he's a liability.

Good- Jeremy Howe is the best of the 3rd talls we have, may force Jurrah/Petterd to spend more time in the midfield cuz this kid should be allowed to own the 50, reads the ball fantastically well and has sticky hands

Quarters 1 and 3, the contested footy, tackling, pressure and defensive work excellent

Ricky bobby playing in the midfield, has great awareness in tight and uses it well, stevie j esque

BRAD NO SPLEEN GREEN not playing, moloney captain FAN... ****ING Tastic

Bad- Goals over the back of the zone, Blease and Tapscott were way too loose

Ugly- The 2nd quarter, says alot about the front running nature of a team when 1 bad quarter costs u the match

The foot skills... seriously over summer these guys need to practice their kicking, find out how the eagles improved their footskills and force our guys to do it twice as much

I thought he was the BOG, amazing leap and marks! Really impressed me. Had an amazing appetite for the contest today.

If only you could get the likes of Sylvia and Davey up and roaring like that you guys would really have given us a good shake today.

Beyond fugly - bartram's kicking. I know he did well to get in position to kick those goals but that one in the third qtr where he ran into an open goal, steadied himself and missed just turned what would have been a momentum swinging moment into a deflating one.

Our skills were the reason we lost this game. At the ground it felt like we dominated the first qtr around the ground but just could not hit a target. Frustrating in the extreme because I thought we were actually having a crack.

The fugliest of fugly - scully COMPLETELY SHIRKING the contest in the fourth qtr about 65m out from offensive goal. Did not go when it was his turn. Deplorable. Piss off to gws already if you don't wanna wreck your contract by getting injured doing what you are paid to do.

I'm a tom scully fan but won't abide this from any CURRENTLY CONTRACTED Melbourne player.

Personally didn't think Morton was so bad. Looked dangerous when he played in the middle and up forward, but was useless as always in defense.

- Jones and Moloney's attack on the ball.

Bad:

- Refusing to kick the ball to Watts 1-on-1, instead we wait for a 4-on-4 and sit the ball on top of his head.
- Our foot skills under pressure, and sometimes under no pressure. Terrible.

Ugly:

- Cale "I'm f*cking sh*t and soft" Morton and Aaron "I've got no heart" Davey.

Making the finals would be an inaccurate reflection of where we are as a club. We aren't a genuine top 8 team and our ladder position is irrelevant imo.

Same player. Having Trengove, Petterd, Howe and Jurrah leaping all over the ground at marks is quite an asset! Pretty good sticking rate too.

Good:
- Howe. We have found a real player here. Was a bit of a smoky when we picked him so high but our FD did a great job to pluck him from obscurity.
- Petterd. Had a dip all day and gave us something across half forward. He and Howe are two half forwards who can push up the ground and still make an impact. Bate is gone, Jurrah needs to lift.
- Moloney. Loved his efforts going back with the flight in the third term.
- Our tall backs. Did a super job on their talls all day long.

Bad:
- Sylvia's selfish effort in the third term. Not good stuff at all. It's a shame as he made the effort to lift in the third term when he was quiet for the first half.
- Davey's form. I don't want to stick him in the fugly section as the poor bloke has missed so much footy this year but he was poor today.
- Bartram's kicking. With the emergence of Tapscott, Blease and Nicholson, plus the efforts of McKenzie and the eventual return of Grimes, it means there is no room for a guy who can't kick in our side anymore. Missed three easy shots by a long way. Not good enough son.

Fugly:
- The second term. Horrible stuff.
- Our field kicking. We could have been in front at quarter time but poor kicking and bad decisions let us down.
- Cale Morton. Bugger me was that kick for goal in the the first term just a complete reflection of his last few seasons with the club. Made position and then ****ed it up big time.
- People who pot the club but don't turn up to games. Anyone can watch every week. Too much noise? Farcical excuse.
