Will be an interesting one, good raps on the kid and it would force North to match the offer and bid their first rounder as well. The danger being if North calls our bluff and doesn't match the bid we end up with McDonald who might ask for a trade to North at a later date anyway.

I think that was my fault Fivey, was trying to get some more info in the WAFL thread about Pickett from the Swans supporters and Masto took exception to it being asked in there.

Turns out all I said was that, in relation to a suggestion by someone that no-one would get drafted without having played a full season of WAFL, that our recruiters have been generally criticised for not rookie-drafting Lewis Jetta in the same circumstances.

I can sleep easy now.

guys im excited about this draft i wanted us to get pick 6 after we couldnt make top 4 which was after round 4 or so, this draft is deep enough for us to hit jackpot, guys i dont think some of us truly understand how important it is to execute this, we cant screw this up. A few good moves there and there bang we're back up there next year if were predicted to win a flag this year what has changed in 6 months time?

The sole red flag that McDonald raises is the one kane identified - the danger that he would seek a trade back to the family club after his initial contract. Call it the Ebert flag.

Given that we've had regular discussion in this thread about draft prospects and the general performance of WAFL teams, there's no reason to change that this close to the end of the season.

Next year we might have a thread dedicated solely to how our players perform in the reserves (particularly given that they'll all be in one team) and another thread for more general WAFL talk.
