You should look at Will Schofield's research on the past 16 Brownlow medal winners.
Perhaps this is akin to the "scientific research" that WC fans claim proves that career longevity is impacted by an extra couple of flights.
They all rated in the top 5 for contested possessions, clearances and tackles.
Quick fact check

2024 Brownlow medalist P.Cripps, was not top5 for tackles
2023 Brownlow medalist L.Neale, was not top5 for tackles
2022 Brownlow medalist P.Cripps, was not top5 for tackles
2021 Brownlow medalist O.Wines was not top5 for tackles

Go and take a relook at your research.

I dunno, I guess it wasn't tackles. I forget exactly but thanks for looking. If I can be bothered, I'll go and look. There were 3 contested stats anyway and Daicos wasn't in the top 5 for 2 of them.

On a pre-Brownlow Backchat podcast, if you feel like looking yourself.

Hang on, are you disputing that Daicos is the undisptable best player in the league ?
Yeah, its a fair comment to say Bont has been the best over the last 10 years, given Daicos hasn't played in 6 of those years.

Bont, like Daicos, has polled a lot of Briwnlow votes without winning one. Again, number of Briwnlow votes for a midfielder is a great indication, without being binary about whether or not the player has won one (or two, or three).

Martin clearly between 2017 and 2020 too, but fell off the cliff quickly.

If you go over the last 10 years, it's probably:
Bont
Neale
Dangerfield
Cripps

LoL yeah why bother checking, much easier to just make up shite and post it and then claim it as fact and supported by "research".

You're quite brilliant.

Same problem.
Nick is Rambo compared to his brother. Still a gun obviously, probably better again in 2026 with someone like Steele or someone else biggish to win the ball and feed it to the Daicos' - If they were officiated like the rest of the comp they'd be a little worse than than the Champion Nick is and that Josh is likely to be one day.

Actually, based on the most recent season, the Pies were the third best team in it, having finished 4th, knocked over the minor premiers, but fell short of the Grand Final.

So much better than 'middle of the road'.
If that finish carried as much weight as you think it does you wouldn’t have fallen to the 7th line of betting for the 2026 flag.

Great.

So based on your 'logic', given Daicos has accumulated the most Brownlow votes across the last three years, it is undisputed that he has been the best player in the competition over that time.

Thanks for confirming.
No!!! It means that for the last 3 years he has lost to players better than him.
Sheesh, Collingwood supporters are a brand all on their own.

There are many comments in this thread stating that "Collingwood not having high end talent from the top end of the draft will cause them to fall off a cliff".

Why do you continue to say that Daicos is the undisputed best player in the AFL. Posters, a lot of them, dispute this. So its disputable.
Because a player who has played 7 x finals and never been voted in the best 2 players in the ground in ANY of them is the undisputed best player… only in lala Pieland. Zero out of 7 … never best 2 on ground.

Having said that, he’s certainly top half dozen.

In 2025 it was actually only 3 extra trips.

WC had 10 trips outside of WA
Coll had 6 trips outside of VIC (plus a final) so 7 in total.
All depends on how you articulate it DG.
Why don't we work it out on hours in the air and away from home or 55, 000 km's travelled compared to 18,000 .
Just depends on how you view it i guess, which is the most difficult trip?
Across three time zones or inside the eastern seaboard.
Doesn't really matter, you will keep articulating stats to suit your narrative.
Hope Collingwood have a great 2026.

Well, looks like I added the tackles in.
No shit.

O.Wines wasn't top5 for clearances in 2021
L.Neale wasn't top5 for CPs in 2023.

The old a former player said something, so I am running with it style claim.

Looks like your entire claim falls apart when you actually bother with some research. 🤣

Well I never said it was my claim, did I?
