every coach who gets that sort of tenure achieves something. at the absolute minimum every other person on that list made at least 2 grand finals and won a flag. NOT KENNY WHO IS ABOUT TO GET PISS BLASTED INTO HIS TWELFTH AND THIRTEENTH SEASONS...
That’s not long enough in my books.

Petition for Kenny boy to stay on at Port Adelaide til he breaks Malthouse’s overall games record, would do it’s amazing service for the rest of the competition and teams out there :thumbsupv1:

Absolutely.
Much like presidents (mcguire)
List managers (dodoro)
These blokes get addicted to club life, struggle to cut the cord. Dodoro!! Reduced role, but still at Essendon, what a ******* joke !
The dangerous area for coaches is when they win flags, this almost immeadiately adds years to their tenure. Chris Scott, Luke Beveridge spring to mind.
Hardwick is an interesting one, saw the writing on the wall and pulled the pin citing exhaustion, next minute…..

I’m not sure why experience is looked down on in a role like that. In a given year only one coach can be seen as truly successful, so for 17 other clubs what was successful in one year may not necessarily be seen as successful the next. Given how hard it is for a team to win a premiership, it seems an impossible standard to hold a coach to and teams likely cost themselves by moving on coaches way too soon.
