i hope we are seriously considering Rich too.

i rate him just behind Hartlett, and if HH ends up at Port Adel with pick4, we should show no hesitation at taking Rich if he's still available.
i just want a midfielder who can have an immediate impact on our club.
my only concern with Rich is his body type. i think he looks a lot older than what he is (more like 21-25... in fact, looks older than me ). which concerns me for his later years, but i suppose he will probably make a quicker transition into footy next year.
he certainly looks passionate about his footy. probably more than any other player in the draft. which is a really good thing.

LMAO!
oh i did have a cheap laugh at that. Numerous cheap laughs.

This whole arm talk is ridiculous.
If he is available past pick 3, any team would be stupid not to take him.

He looks like a t-rex with those tiny arms.

Sorry to inavade doods, but you guys are sitting pretty at pick 5.
Hard decision isn't it.
If freo pick hill at three and port pick either yarran or vickery at 4 then you guys must decide to go for rich- gun midfielder or Trengrove- gun kp backman, just the guy to stop buddy franklin.

Do you really need another midfielder ?
Look at your backline, one would think with mal michael retiring and fletcher not far off retiring, only ryder remains as your only good tall.
Really trengrove who is an essendon supporter, local boy and gun backman should be your first pick.
If trengrove fell to pick 11 the pies would definately pick him up.We would have then sured up our backline for the next 10 years.
Any way the differnce between hurley and trengrove.
Trengrove, tough, has aglity and grunt and is a speedster.
Hurley ,tough, agile, good mark but slow off the mark, but dead eyed dick can hit targets from outside fifty.

This is the last draft for a few years,so whatever every team picks now your stuck with for the next few years, and premierships are always won with good kp spines, not just brilliant midfields.

Good luck sat.

I believe we need to look at a gun mid for our first pick, then look towards a KPB with our later picks. I used to think we really needed a gun backman (which we could still use) but really we had poor midfield defensive pressure this year. If we improve the defense of the midfield, the backline shouldn't look so poor.

i had a read.. surely she's having a laugh thinking that Rich will slide to 9? like many have said, i'd be very confused if we overlooked Rich if he was available, especially if it were for a Yarran or Hill instead.
Essendon supporters say Knights is big on pace and run, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bombers pick Yarran ahead of Rich.

Doesn't Yarran suit Knights' game plan more than Rich?

I don't buy all the hype about Rich being part of a top three that are a class above the rest.

Proud and Jetta were supposed to be a sodas for a top ten pick in 2006.

Yarran sounds like a Cotchin who can hit the target or goal on either foot under pressure.

They're just freaks and so strong through the hips like Judd.

Yarran soccered one ball along the ground with his right foot with two players hot on his tail.

Yarran picked it up at pace and kicked it on his left after putting more space between him and his pursuers with a shimmy of the hips to send them the wrong way.

LOL. :D

Cotchin kicked a similar goal in the TAC cup finals when he was running towards the Elliott stand pocket and pulled it back across his body on the left for a goal.

I can stil remember that goal. :)

I don't know why Fremantle wouldn't want Yarran when Hasleby and Palmer can win the ball inside.

You'd think that Headland and Yarran would make a good pair on the wide open spaces of Subiaco.

I think Yarran is underrated on BigFooty. Talent wise he's probably top 2/3 and he isn't your 'typical' indigenous player. He's got a strong body with good balance. He suffered an injury this year and still managed to kick 30+ goals in 13 games for Swan Districts.

I'm almost leaning towards him over Hartlett.

What ! You haven't made up your mind ?

I am too. It's taken a while, but I've made my mind up, and I want Yarran

Me three...I was disappointed we were linked to Yarran as I thought we didn't need another Davey or Jetta but when I was told he'd primarily be a midfielder and after watching some highlights of him in action I've been won over.

Chris Yarran, make it happen Knighta

Same here.

I was red hot on him at the start of the year, went a bit cold on him after the Champs, but he probably tops my list at the moment.

I'm still a Hurley fan though, and wouldn't be at all disappointed if we picked him.

To be honest, I think I'll be happy with anyone in the end, but Yarran's probably my man going into Saturday.

I haven't 'decided' on Yarran, I'm just accepting it because we'll most likely draft him :p

yeah im more accepting of yarran then earlier however i would still take rich and hartlett over him

counting nataniu and watts as gone i would go

1. Rich (we desperately need someone in the midfeild who can run and kick like him, im sick of having the worst midfeild in terms of disposal in the comp, if we had better skills through the midfeild lloyd and lucas would run riot)
2. Hartlett (just a complete package, there is nothing wrong about him)
3. Yarran
4. Sidebottom/Ziebell

im tipping freo will still go for rich and hartlett will go to port so we will get yarran.

I think we can all agree that it would be pretty hard to kepler our first round pick this year with so many viable options.

Johnson is almost a midfielder anyway, small forwards don't get 34 disposals in a grand final!

Well he doesn't start many bounces in the centre and spends a lot of time up the ground, he is just damn good at what he does, moving up the field when he knows he needs to have a bigger influence, much like the GF against a tough Hawks side.
