As much I think Howes is an interesting prospect with potential high upside, I don’t think he’s an Immediate need. Other areas need more attention currently.

I kinda love tall mids with a good time trial haha. It's not an immediate need but if he was available I'd struggle to not pick him for us

I don’t see him as the on ball mid type. First pick will be a taller mid type you’d think, just depends whose on the board at that stage. I think if we trade back in, it should be for a small forward or a good pure midfielder who has slipped, due to there being a plethora of mids in the top 30-40 players and clubs will reach on talls leaving some good mids to slip down the board. Can easily see a Sonsie or Roberts still on the board late but even a Knevitt/ Macdonald would be great selections.

Really happy with that mock draft if it happened, not a single player taken earlier than they should be. Chesser is a classy and athletic mid, Howes a dynamic half forward who could allow Perkins to play more midfield and Curtis as a pure small forward to fill that list need.

I really want the Wanganeen-Millera kid. 188cm wingman who can run and has the best disposal. Him and Cox on a wing, plus the classy mids we've developed now ... just need a beast battering ram.

Looks and sounds like a smart player, good skills speed and workrate, suits the modern game.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was taken earlier than expected.

I'm not saying his position is in jeopardy. But good teams have selection pressure at every position, look at Melbourne and the Bulldogs who dropped multiple key players at times based on form.

If Snelling is fit and in form he is a walk up best 22 player every day of the week.
But if he goes through a patch where he is lacking form I don't think he is in the Zerrett/Ridley/Stringer class that is undroppable no matter what.

Well yeh that would go for most players if they are severely out of form... if we got Taylor I think it would add another small to the mix rather than take away a spot from another. I don’t think he’d be able to successfully play the Snelling role for a couple of seasons anyway. Requires a high level of areobic capacity and body strength.

Might be a little late to the party on this but like many would be happy for the trade with Richmond as per the HS mock draft. From those available at pick 13 I think there's quite a few that we'd be happy to end up with so would be happy to do so.

I could also see us using our F2 to move up the board slightly from that pick 30 if there were someone who we particularly liked still on the board as well.

I am not giving up an Erasmus or M.Johnson though at 13 for 17 and 30

By trading to 17 we could miss all of M.Johnson, Erasmus and Goater which wouldnt please many here
