Not correct. You keep Zorko on the ground with the C and you make sure you've got an emergency to cover Zorko.

However, it does mean to have to have at least one non-scoring player in your 30 and you'd expect most people would be aiming to pick 30 playing Rd 1. Then again Pods didn't play Rd 1.....;)

Im confused as to why you said not correct, than posted exactly what i did above.

A non playing player round 1 is the same as a player not playing out of the 30.

Non playing means they wont play round 1?:confused:

Not talking actually about dream team 22, more about afl selected teams.:thumbsu:

Apologies. Thought you were suggesting you'd have to cop a donut with the non-playing player on the ground - got lost in translation.

We're all in screaming agreement - loophole works if you're prepared to start the year with someone not playing Rd 1.

Newman not named for NAB suggest is surprising and suggest he has carried an injury, missed a bit of preseason or is currently injured.

I think it simply mean Hill moves into a more permanent spot and Ryan Neates is in line. Stirjk is more a HFF/HBF. Hams certainly will get games as he has in the past. Weedon has been groomed for defense and isnt that small forward type.

lol :o:o:o

Any love for Nick Riewoldt. News on preseason? Has he worked his ass off?

Currently starting with Chapman, Franklin, Pavlich, Cloke and Martin as forward premiums but skeptical on Chapman and Cloke tbh.

what exactly are people doing to avoid zeros when the byes come around? Even with a spread of players for each bye, you still cop a donut...

I got mine down to 2 zeros total over those 3 weeks. I'm not sure it's possible to go further without wasting trades.

Same here. Assuming all goes to plan, you can do upgrades and downgrades in Rds. 12 and 13 which will leave you with two donuts over the course of the 3 rounds and avoid sideways trades (based on my current keeper structure, both donuts will be in Rd.13). A lot depends on finding the right downgrade targets (with the Rd.13 bye) circa Rd.7 and 8 - a big ask and a lot of wishful thinking at this point.

Yeah for me its all got too hard.
I've got a stack of young GWS and I hope I can hold off on the trades until rounds 11/12.

thoughts on gian?
monster pre-season, great two games in the nab cup hit out

Giansiracusa is very inconsistent, thus he's a good guy to trade in when he's dropped in price, but maybe not such a good starting pick. Could be a good one to pick up in R12 after he's done with his bye.

What forward rooks have you guys got in at the moment? I'm finding this the hardest part of my team to pick.

At the moment I've got Zorko, Hall, Kerridge and Hampton.

Treloar, Kennedy, Saad and a couple of others have been in there at times but still just doesn't seem to be much value in the forward rooks.

For me Hampton is putting himself forward as a lock. If Zorko says hes right for round 2 or plays round 1 he will be in my team. I have Smedts as a forward.

Treloar apparently injured. Hall is certainly on the radar. Kerridge, Saad, Cameron and Miliera aswell. Tory Dickson and possibly an eagles small forward in maybe Neates/Weedon.

Wish Lachie Neale was a forward.

feelings on J Brown?
even when fit the past few years he is very up and down.

never have been a huge fan but have ended up with him in my team at certain times just because he was the best option available.

although he may not smash his face this season, he is getting on now.
can anyone see him dominate enough to take his 330k price tag up and be a keeper?

or should i be looking at taking another rookie and just start with 4 premium forwards?

How many trades are you using to keep it to 2 zeros?

My math tells me :
If you label them group 11, 12, 13.
Best result: round 11.
22 players , 8 in the bye. 8 group 11, 10 group 10, 12 group 13

Using 2 trades gives.
Round 12:
22 players, 8 in the bye. 10 group 11, 8 group 12 , 12 group 13.

Using 2 trades gives
Round 13:
20 players 20 groups 11,12 10 group 13. Two Doughnuts.

Every player on the list must play.
Relies on being pretty damn clever with duel position players.
This also relies on using the spare rucks to good effect ie duel position, David Hale anyone?

Right now my forward rookies are Saad, Hampton (Skinner, Hall).

Got a few other rookies on my radar and im sure my forward rookies will change, but thats what they are for now.

Nice work but over the bye rounds we are allowed to make 3 trades per week.

So if your balls were big enough and you were willing to make 6 trades over those weeks you could actually get no doughnuts.

Either way as mentioned in your post it will take some nice mastery of DPP players and also having lots of luck making sure every player you have for those rounds plays

I dont think people are actually gonna use that many trades in between rounds 3-11 as they have in the past. In fact im expecting far less otherwise your trading yourself to zero's which counteracts the points gained bu the upgrade in the first place.

So using 6 trades shouldnt be a worry as you should have plenty left coming into those rounds.

Im probably only looking at doing 4 upgrades to major premiums before the byes. Thats the way i see it right now.
