Moreland are hopeless. Northern saints rooms are the original rooms from the 70’s maybe earlier, their switchboard is a death trap their away rooms smaller than my toilet the lights are the originals with two lamps per tower... that precinct is well overdue for an overhaul but priorities are elsewhere....
that place has serious potential, two ovals, netball courts lawn bowls and tennis.

You're spot on and maybe this is what all of this debacle is supposed to teach us. Maybe each of our clubs should band together and start fighting for this stuff as a unit instead of each of us just being 100% focused on home. Surely every club could spare a bit of time and effort to hassle whomever whenever to get some of this stuff sorted. Or at least make a group effort as a whole. We're losing clubs that have so much history and when you look in the divisions above a few of them are going to cop the same thing. Move up, get relegated the next year, no money and then what?! Another one bites the dust I guess. And when we lose a club obviously some jump laterally to another club but we also lose a chunk of those players to other leagues or they just pack it in altogether. Volunteers and supporters aren't going to follow unless they have a family link for the most part and so there goes more people who are integral to grass roots local footy. The club I support is in a fortunate spot at the moment as we have a strong junior base somehow and quite a few supporters. However we're not naive enough to think that we couldn't be exactly where KP or Jacana are in a very short period of time as things can change very quickly depending on so many factors. We need to build up and protect our local footy clubs even if the EDFL can't be stuffed because at this rate we're all going to be bulldozed to make way for other council sports or initiatives sooner or later.
