EDFL Division 1 2016

Hey Billy I have a forced break and you get on here and start potting the Sharks in my absence. How you can sit back and make stupid comments is beyound me, other than your jealous of them in some way. Yes Tulla are playing in finals "again" and that's a great effort I agree. But where are they heading? IF they were to win it and go up to premier, that would spell the end of Tulla. They would fold after a year in premier or try and stay down in div1 in 2017 which the league wouldn't allow to happen.

Back onto the Sharks and Obviously the club needs to have a plan for when they are ready to have a crack at winning promotion to premier. Can't be easy to operate a club with so many junior teams, but you wouldn't know that would you!
Sharks budget would be pretty low and much lower than the top 4 sides and Glenroy. They are probably a bit similar to when Greenvale came into the comp but they don't have a big money sponsor (or two) as what Greenvale was able to get, and of course the facilities at Greenvale were always going to be good in that area.
Give them a bit more time and when div1 spending comes back into line somewhat with other teams they will be a force, mostly on the back of there good junior program as there 18s are on top and there 16s just played off in the div1 GF competing with the "big" EDFL powerhouse clubs.
Also they seem to a attract a large supporter base which is another positive, but again it's partly to do with the junior numbers and the willingness to engage them into the club.

Yes Billy the Sharks do have the benefit of a large area with new families but it does take hard work. I don't want to see any club struggle, but ultimately you can't drop the ball (even for a short time) in these difficult times, as it's to hard to pick up and go again. A club like Glenroy is a good example of a traditional club that is still doing well in a tough area with other clubs close by. But they seem to find juniors every year and appear to be doing well in some divisions. I guess it's partly due to some older heads still working hard and if the new generation are coming through the club will continue to prosper. Tulla have great history (I remember the days of the great man Dean Hartigan) but just can't seem to build a junior program.
So I'm potting them by me saying HS must be disappointed with there year, and that them being the danger team in 17 is a bold prediction has sent you on the above rant, I'd suggest you get back on your medication.
Give me a break some of the things you have said about other clubs across all the division is an absolute disgrace and you have a crack at them at every opportunity you get
Go away FFS

Id be surprised if either of the clokes were talking about next year at the minute. Both would have no problems find well paid homes elsewhere so im backing they'd be thinking about what we all should be, the upcoming finals series

If I was u I would get a new postman because most of your mail is wrong and this time again your mail is wrong

Hey LittleFella, It's great you defend your club. Can't deny they have been exceptional for your club and the league, and your club must be congratulated on that recruiting coup. But they are going to move on and my mail is good. But I think you know that so we move on I guess..
CB will hunt some new players no doubt, but I will watch closely as to who they can entice. There problem in the past has been finding top end talent that can play premier. It's a challenge for a lot of clubs outside the metro zone due to the extra travel and other things. Players after work prefer to travel less especially now with the extra traffic.

Willo- They will be focused on doing the job they were recruited for, and that's to get CB a div1 flag. I never question the boys endeavour & commitment. However it's the nature of footy these days to be recruiting as soon as the year has finished, if not just before. Good clubs chase early & hard. Especially as these boys are on good coin clubs recruiting will be worked around them. Its a huge investment only some clubs can afford.

if crazyburn win the gf and go it would be a big loss to lose the cloke boys they would be hard to replace the would have kick well over 100 goals between them this year that is hard to replace in any side especially when you go to premier division

That's very true but I think they knew the deal upfront. Yes hard to replace but surely there got a plan. They have the $$ but often find it hard to entice players living in the city area out to there. However this is an issue for a few other clubs as well. Why jump on a freeway after work if you can drive 10-15 mins. Bit on the flip side they have more junior numbers and homegrowns I guess..

Ill take tulla by 15,if it keeps raining I'm not sure who it will suit better
OP by 10
Im sure any side would rather play the clokes, robertson, fletcher young etc in the wet rather than the dry so id say it favours Tulla. Wont be a weekend for marking forwards which the backmen will enjoy. I still think CB by 30.
Oak park to end WM season on sunday with another close win over there rivals. This game will be a ripper looking forward to it. OP by 8

Not post related but I think the saints club rooms need more Fawkner amo / Moomba park / Fawkner park memorabilia on display
As a 1year old I was at the club watching uncles okay for the Amos and I myself played at Moomba/Fawkner park/Northern Saints in the 90's and 2000's juniors all the way to seniors so you would know all of my family ;)
I think the Club should have been called Fawkner Saints, a true combination of Fawkner Park and North Coburg Saints rather than Northern Saints.

Why not give that option to the members to vote on?
I fully agree. We just need you to put it on the agenda at the annual meeting.

Tullamarine Submarines = Disgrace
Will be interesting to see what action the edfl will take after there performance today
What happened? I had to leave before the end of the game.

Craigieburn made a big statement to those who doubted them!!

All for friendly banter but the constant C bombs coming from the crowd today and drunken behavior was disgraceful. To lean over the fence at the end of the game and carry on after your team gets smashed just doesn't sit well with me. Felt sorry for the tullamarine players I'm sure they were embarrassed not only on the field but off the field today

I'm just sitting here waiting for someone to say tulla had X amount of players out that's why they lost. They were quite chirpy after beating Craigieburn last time around. I think we just made a statement that we are a difficult team to beat at full strength

I wasnt there but if true the league needs to take action on this type of behaviour. But be lets be neutral here some other clubs are not much better when they lose.
We have some great players in our league and it's only getting better, but I'm not sure the umpiring or the league administration is moving as fast.
The league would have seen it if it was that bad as you say, so let's see how they react.

Personally I'm over all these idiot, often gutless people yelling abuse in groups. Start warning clubs and kick them out if needed and make this league the best in metro footy.

That's my say!!

Hopefully Billy will reply as he was there I would assume..

Craigieburn always going to win the GF by 60+ points, youngone. Simple as that..

They have recruited well over the last 2 years and spending 100k more than any other teams so they are clear favorites by the Flemington straight.

The question will be can they compete in premier, and more importantly improve there off field behavoir to move forward as a club. I honestly hope they can as they should be playing in premier league.

Yes I guess I will cop it again for being honest. But if you are all being honest you know it's totally true.

Cragieburn were at there best and i think when there at there best it's a 10 goal plus better side then anyone so it will take something speacial to be beaten in 2 weeks time. Every ones quick to throw out figures on what they spent but fast forget the 12 home growns that played today and with the majority of players being 25 an under hold themselves in good shape if they are to venture to premier next season . As for Tullamarine they really need to regroup and go back to what worked in the lead up to the finals as that brand of footy wouldn't of beaten oak park or westy today there midfield were not accountable . Gordon Davies heenan and Mcerlain all took advantage of it .

Agree language wasn't acceptable, but don't get carried away it was nipped in the bud pretty quickly,we should ban 18- 30 year old blokes from associating together in public and getting on the drink
