2015 predictions. EDS plenty of ins and outs so very hard to get an accurate reading. Have lost some quality and some of their recruits may not either play or get cleared. Good kids coming through and they seem to be hell bent on going straight back up. History tells you to go straight back up is hard. Top 4 lock top 2 chance.
Tulla lost about 18 players out of top 30 and have picked up half a dozen. Depth will be a massive problem. No 18s. somewhere between 5 and 8th.
T/Lakes virtually no comings or goings on the clearances. As always very hard to get a read on them. 2s are the reigning Premiers and Lakes always competitive at this level. Top 4 best case
Westy nowhere near as much movement as last preseason when they virtually recruited a whole new club. Some good ins mean they should improve but I still think top 4 will be best.
Roys have 3 genuine guns and one of them is leaving. 2s are always strong and they have picked up some good young talent. Not enough stars to worry the top 4 imo. 5th to 8th.
Oak Park spending a fortune but never seem to get the actual quality they need. Quality midfield with Bloomfield, pascu, German and Hare from Tulla but kicking goals might be a problem. Will be pushing the top 4. 4th to 6th.
Hillside have picked up some real fire power with stocco and Rocky. At times last year they were very good. added to their defence with weightman from WC. Could be one of the big improvers. Good coach who knows the comp helps as well. 3rd to 5th
Crazyburn signalled their intent very early with the biggest signings since Harris and contessa went to APW and we all know how that ended. The clokes will be the best 2 players in the comp by a mile (not sure y they aren't in the inter league squad)If they fire then the sky is the limit. also recruited some other handy players. top 4 lock pushing for top 2.
East Keilor haven't heard anything re recruits and the clearances page gives me nothing. Will need to find 6 to 8 goals from last year to trouble any div 1 teams. likely spot last but hopefully they stay up.
My ladder although I think it will be extremely even

I would expect all 3 sides to make finals and I would think as a club we should be expecting that also.

Youngsters? Yep, absolutely. Callum Langborne is my tip to see big things out of. He's a real gem who only needs to tidy up his disposal by foot to be a top liner. Sammy Lafan is another I'd expect to see play lots of games. Not much to him, but knows how to kick a goal or 5. Braydon Hardstaff is another. Watched him play for Greenvale's 2nd 18 side and thought he had some major discipline issues, but came to the Eagles to not only establish himself in our 18s but to earn a well deserved spot off the HBF in the seniors. Nath Perone is looking very good every time I've seen him train and looks really fit.

Vinnie Falcone, Dom jnr, Natoli, Anderson, Gorgievski, Da Riva to name a few are all capable of senior 1s footy.

Ah the good old days. Also used to be a good night series at Melton South a long while back. Problem now is that the EDFL is far superior to other local leagues in"our" region so might be one sided. Also now days, no club wants to play against sides in the same league in case recruits ( that maybe are not signed) are headhunted.
Great idea though. What about playing at Keilor & Keilor Park as grounds are close and both have good lights.
Another problem will be other clubs seeing Keilor ( or wherever it's held) make the revenue.

On the Greenvale option it's just not central IMO. Would be great if Marby had good lights on both grounds as very central and lots of public transport options.

Cheers.
Rams arena could be a good option as it has best lighting and surface in comp

Don't know why cburn aren't playing night games during the year there, best facilities in the league for it and hasent happened!
Saying that think they've got a praccy match on a Friday night in a few weeks

I think craigieburn have trouble because cannons have preferences over the ground

Look boys that ground is not crazyburns it's the cannons ( well I think Richmond paid for it) so crazyburn don't control it. They have their own ground.
Interesting to know what they told the Cloke boys!!! Big difference in grounds.,,

Let's get this clear. It's not Craigieburns ground. They borrow it when it's free and they need permission.
Also used by VFL teams which override Craigieburn.
Not sure how eager they are to play their as there win loss record a abysmal at Highgate. Could be wrong but I'm not sure they have even won a game there

I'd heard that too.

Footy up there today and tomorrow if anyone needs a fix.

massive area out there in Craigieburn. I assume it's only a matter of time till a 2nd side there just like the Hillside area having now three teams in Hillside, Burnside Heights and Caroline Springs (WRFL). Highgate FC?? Nth Cragieburn?? big pool of kids, and only going to get bigger. Could use Highgate for all local "derbies"

Second club is probably needed in the new estates of craigieburn start it with juniors and build them up as the other new sides have done

Boys might be massive now but look 20 years down the track when it's a older community and see if locals will still be around and kids will be older. I suppose the heir achy that is in place at the moment want care in 20 years because it will be someone else problem

Clubs survive people come and go, 20 yrs ago Craigieburn Eagles were a powerhouse in a very strong Rdfl. Theyve picked up some more than handy players, but the coach could well be the star now he has a bit of fire power

They did pretty well when they came into the edfl too.... Got into the top division pretty quickly

Only recently the joint imploded resulting in many talented home growns leaving but they all seem to be coming back now

True, besides Nolan and maybe 1-2others most of the young ones that have left over the years have had over inflated egos and have chased $.
The coach is a very smart operator and he will take the club a long way, Flag faves by a mile.

I grew up in craigieburn and grew up with a lot of those guys and I think it had a bit to do with broadening horizons as well... Exploring clubs beyond craigieburn fc and realising that craigieburn fc wasn't the be all and end all

Yeah I grew up there as well and yes what you are saying is true but $ money came first, a few to many held the club to ransom over the years.
