Kingfooty, if you are only stating facts, how about you get a few.

1. The night series is not run by the Keilor Football Club, (KFC) it is run by the Keilor Sports Club (KSC). Subtle difference.
2. The proceeds do not automatically flow to the football club. Of course if the KFC, wins the series they get the prize money.
3. The rest of the proceeds are split amongst the clubs associated with the KSC.
4. Now as far as buying all the “gun” players, question for you, in the EDFL finals 2005, Keilor seniors played in two games. How many “imports” in the team. That is players that did not have any junior background at Keilor? Answer below.
5. All match officials, umpires, scoreboard staff etc, fully paid, for all the games they compete in.
6. Only Keilor wins? Ask St Albans & Parkside if they have ever won.

Answer to the above question, three. Rabee Houacher, Tony Rosios and Lee Fraser. All the rest of the team started as juniors at Keilor or played junior football there at some time. In fact Lee Fraser hardly qualifies as an import any more. Has been at the club for close to ten years, has bought a house in the area, and will probably finish his playing days at Keilor.

More than you can say for most of the high price imports coming into the EDFL and other comps. Will they stay when the bagman leaves with all the dollars? Don’t think so.
If you do not want to contribute to the “wealth” of Keilor, you don’t have to go!

Can anyone confirm the Rumour Keilor Park are playing in the night series ??

at the end of the day keilor f c make money out of the night series. if you think they dont your are kidding yourself. all i am saying is west coburg or any other club for instance would be far better off playing 3 or 4 home practice games showing off their great new recruits to their supporters. by doing this they would most likely make around $2000 profit per game at least (canteen, bar, raffles)etc. thats around $8000 extra that they would have to make their club even stronger. football is a business and you need to think that way, especially if you want to have success. you sound like your from keilor and you obviously dont want these clubs to work out that the night series is only helping keilor f.c and not helping their own clubs financially. keilor have been a very successful club and i am not knocking them, but clubs need to make decisions that help them instead of helping their rival.

You might have your facts a little wrong mate:

Tortora
Weston
Nunziato
Lang
O'Connor
R Little
Bicer

Were NOT a part of the 2's for the finals in 2001..

In fact;

I don't think Weston, Bicer and Tortora ever played a reserves game at Coburg.

If they did, it would not have exceeded 2-3 games each..

Cheers

Sorry mate your wrong, i played in that game, i will tell you the positions they started in, against Werribe 2001, port Melbourne

Tortara - Right was injuried all year and didn't play
Weston - Ruck Rover
Nunziato - Wing
Lang - Center
O'Corner - Bench or Forward Pocket
R.Little - Full back
Bicer - Rover

As for playing only a few games, no not that year other than Weston and Lang all other played the majority of the year in the twos. Rememeber it was the first year Richmond was involved, so most of the players we Richmond

Cheers

Your profit figure for Keilor keeps coming down. Just accept the fact that some clubs are quite happy to play, and don't really care. Nor should you. Move on, I am.

Most of the Coburg reserves players are ex calder cannons, dont know why they waste there time in the VFL reserves

Heard Charlie Pardo is making a comeback to APW this season, apparently doing a heap of training, could be a handy inclusion up forward for the eagles....as well a a great clubman - havent seen him play...any thoughts?

I have heard he is being chased by at least 3 clubs,

Handy pick up, camped at FF could bag a few,

Also heard could be part of a deal for the Barclay transfer between KP and APW ???

Pardo is making a comeback because Barclay, Castello, Sinese & Pappa are all playing there, was one of the reasons barclay chose APW.

Although have to agree with you on one thing though, have heard a few clubs (A grade as well) have got wind of it and have been on the phone...

Right on there lightening, have heard at least one A grage club has offered a good deal, considering he has been out a while.

Believe he has turned it down, has n't settled on a deal with APW, but expects to be looked after.

Just heard that a high profile club in the edfl has offered Marcus Pappa an enormous amount of money, huge sign on fee....thought he was locked in with APW but source has confirmed he may not have signed there as yet.

Can anyone shed some light on these recruits. Have been asking for weeks about Pacco but no one has info or not interested in them. Just wanted to know how the old Broady boy Ezard has em firing and if Johnny Taylor is going round again.

Pacco have recruited well this Year - Ezard has a good relationship with all the Guys from St Albans as he coached there for 5 years and played in 4 finals series 2 grand finals and 1 premiership. What he does to Pacco is exactly what he did with St Albans he will get everyone fit and playing his style of footy which is very effective and will win games. He will see what he has on the list this year from pacco plus recruites like - the Stott Borthers x 3. Flying Forward JB (High Marking Forward) and a couple of other players who have played either at Coburg under Ezard before or from St Albans. Then next season you can garuntee he will buy his way out of B Grade and play A grade footy with in 3 years he will play A Grade Finals. He has allot of support from important people in the Footballing world who like to see him succeed.

thats fine if you want to make keilor even more money. surely your club can organise good quality matches without helping your opposition become wealthier. maybe thats why their up near the top every year. only the winner gets any decent money out of it and it is always keilor who wins it. take the bar and canteen money and it is like staging finals every year. 10 to 15 grand before round 1 in the bank is very handy, it can pay for a couple of guns. so if you think helping your rivals is a good idea then go for it....

Kingfooty. After a game how many of the blokes who play for your business (Your Footy Club) Hang around after the game for a beer? How many guys have you brought this year? How many of them do you know willbe there next year? How many of them do you think even care or show pride in the Jumper they are wearing? How many of these guys would draw blood for there so called mate wearing the same jumper? And how many other clubs have these guys played at before they have played at your club? So Keilor host a "LOCAL" night competition where they invite other teams from other leages to play in 2 round robbin games and all other teams build relationships with each other from this.

The real reason to why you are against the Night Series is that your players will not be available to play in these competitions because they have no pride or pashion for there club they are representing for 1 and 2 they are not getting paid to play in it!!!

Have a look at yourself Kingfooty it is LOCAL football mate and spending Thousands of dollars on players at a time and offereing sign on fees does not make a good club mate.

You'll find that players who have come to your club for money will leave just as quick when your money runs out. which believe me mate it will, ask the other one hit wonder clubs and see how they are all going now? STRUGGLING !!!
