Two very different cases

BH got more because they were deceitful, failed to declare payments and the list goes on

BS mate as Keilor got caught they never admitted it upfront. How the hell do they get off lighter than a div2 lower club. Keilor didn’t have player points reduced to my understanding..

It’s no wonder Keilor get away with things and will continue to raid neighbouring clubs juniors with the permission and approval of the EDFL. The EDFL should be ashamed of themselves for that decision. I’m no fan of burnside but it’s an embarrassment..

Yep it's the your good blokes so you'll get a slap on the wrist and who cares about Burnside really by the league

Heard it here first….Matty Dennis has been released. Due to the new management not knowing how to fill out contracts properly, missed a very key part of the contract process. There fore no EK contract is valid and every player can be released.

These guys making old management look amazing 😂

my understanding is that players no longer sign contracts, only Player Declaration Forms as per AFL Victoria's instructions. These declaration forms are considered binding by AFL Victoria and will be upheld in any arbitration.

They are probably not LEGALLY BINDING in a court of law, but hey they are only for a couple of hundred dollars a week, not like anyone is getting paid $20k to $30k plus a year so who would bother to take it to court?

why can't people be honest and just say as it is the kids pay for the seniors I just believe clubs are ripping families of how can one club have fees nearly $300 dollars less than others

Junior soccer clubs in Perth charge their juniors up to $1000 per head to play, and those clubs are not even playing in the top tier.

My son wanted to play under 7s soccer about 10 years ago. The equivalent to Auskick was about $150 and when he went to go to the next level the next year it was over $600 and it was no secret that most of the money went to paying senior players who were playing Z-grade level. My response was something about jamming something somewhere and he did scouts instead.

One cost you haven't counted is footballs. Match Day Sherrin's are between $150 and $180 each and you basically need 4 fresh ones every home game.
Then you have training footy's - you need about one for every 4 players. That's for both seniors and juniors. They are a bit cheaper and you can re-use some of the match day footys but thats no good early in the season.

Other costs:
  • Senior Trainers - generally 3 each for Mens and Womens and can be between $100 to $200 each per match
  • Player insurance
  • Fire, theft insurance
  • Gas, electricity
  • Football jumpers
  • Strapping - you would not believe how much a club has to spend on strapping every week. I would think 75% of all senior player have some sort of strapping on them
  • Other medical items, gatorades, pickle juice
  • Exercise equipment - most clubs have weights and exercise bikes these days
  • Licencing costs - food, bar
  • Weekly team dinners for Seniors - I dare say most clubs have weekly team dinners after Thursday night training. Some clubs charge the players a nominal fee, others don't. Feeding 60 people a week is not cheap.
Bar and canteen is basically a break even affair when you factor in wages, wastage etc.

All up it costs around 10k for an average weekend of footy at your home ground. The more teams you have, the greater the cost.
How dare you Monkeys send in a post with facts and figures that makes sense .Shame on you
