Seems Oscar says Lando has said he took responsibility for the Singapore contact and there will be on track repercussions coming forth… he didn’t go any further..

Or it could be an AI Deepfake.
Norris Admits There Will Be ‘Repercussions Until the End of the Season’ After Piastri Contact In Singapore

The team has apparently come down on Oscar's side after reviewing the Lap 1 incident. Pity they didn't do that during the race when Oscar asked them to swap positions.

Off-track repercussions mean nothing to Oscar. If they truly believed ‘papaya rules’ were broken in Singapore then any penalty should’ve been applied immediately, on track. This just reeks of PR damage control.

It’s quite the feat by McLaren, being both the WCC and the laughing stock of F1 at the same time.

Exactly, off track repercussions don't give him his lost points back.

Umm...what??

The alleged victim, in her thirties, worked on the property and was reportedly part of the medical team providing on-site care to Schumacher, who suffered serious injuries after a ski accident back in 2013.

No members of the Schumacher family are implicated in the allegations.

Now, according to The Sun, the driver accused of raping the nurse has been named as Joey Mawson.

The report stated that the prosecution alleges Mawson, 29, r*ped the woman twice after a cocktail party at Schumacher's mansion in Gland, Switzerland, in 2019.

A caller in on Gerard Whateley's show in SEN today made a claim that Mclaren stand to lose a lot of money if they win the driver's championship if it's Norris.

This is a plausible conspiracy theory, and I'm likely to believe it. It make more sense that the bewetting going on in these threads.

I'm not sure how many people, especially at McLren, thought Piastri would elevate himslef like he has so far, and in particularly sponsors that are aligned with Norris.

With Max closing in and a now real threat, McLaren's best chance of a Drivers Championship is to prioritise Piastri over Norris but it won't happen.
If the gap was larger they likely would have done it already. IMO if either driver is within a race win (25pts) you simply couldn’t do it as that deficit could be erased with a single DNF.

Having said that, with Lando’s current momentum if he gets his nose in front it wouldn’t surprise me if this team pulled the priority lever.

Nah **** that, give them both a fair crack at it. To ask either driver to sacrifice the chance to win the WDC would be a ridiculous ask.

They both just need to step up for themselves on track and outqualify Max.

yeah as much as I want an Oscar title, 14pts is not enough to justify priority.

Maybe if it pushes over that one win barrier with a couple to go, but even then I don't see it particularly with Qatar being a sprint.

IMO it won't get to one driver focus status unless Oscar/Lando are ahead by 15-20 going into Abu Dhabi and Max is around the same.

I don't think we'll see team orders at all. It's too late/close now.

What would you do if you were TP and this happens?

Heading into Abu Dhabi
Oscar - WDC Leader
Lando - 5 points behind Oscar
Max - 6 points behind Lando (11 behind Oscar).

Max runs off into the distance again, so he's going +25.
Landos's 2nd (+18)
Merc/Ferrari 3rd (+15)
Oscar 4th (+12)

If you do nothing = Max wins WDC, Lando 2nd, Oscar 3rd. OR

Have Lando concede 2nd AND 3rd place (to Mercedes/Ferrari in 3rd), to elevate Oscar from 4th = Oscar wins WDC, Max 2nd, Lando 3rd.

In that situation, McLaren win the WDC, but have given up a spot to another team in the race and Lando has sacrificed now only 2nd spot in the WDC but also swapped WDC finishing rank with his team-mate.

I don't think McLaren would even do that FOR Lando, let alone against him.

Lando wouldn't do that for Lando either

I think it's pretty clear Max has little respect for Lando so having someone else now involved that will be able to push his mental fragility will somewhat help Oscar potentially. I mean if they could take each other out that'd be swell. Oscar just has to get his shit together, just cannot be behind Ferrari's or mercs

I think they'd do it. They'd have to? Why wouldn't they?

It wouldn't sit well with anyone in the moment but history will forget the asterisk and a McLaren driver would forever have won in 2025.

Of course they would do that. Any team would, i wouldnt expect Lando to make the swap til right at the end of the last lap when its clear Max has won, but Lando would give it up.

No driver would want their teammate to be world champion, but once its definetly lost you kind of have to. No one cares who finishes 2nd in the championship.

I'd love Oscar to win the title.
If he doesn't I'd love to see Max win it as a result of McLarens Papaya rules bumbling

The advantage of having only 1 driver near the front instead of 2 is massive. If Max does win, I wonder how teams in the future handle having 2 closely matched drivers. I mean if McLaren prioritised one driver from the start, they would probably be 80+ points clear now, but it would have been extremely boring to watch.

Teams care about the constructors, you need two quality drivers.
