Yawn. Rowey trying to make footy on good Friday controversial and imply that no one is going because of religious reasons. I would say that would be a very very small minority. My Italian strongly catholic friends are all going. Does anyone actually care?

Yeah I do. Footy's not the be-all for everyone. It feels wrong to have it on Good Friday for me, and am still weighing up what to do.

If they exchange winks then I'm sure they're coming home
Every time when Rankine or Luko get a possession should the crowd cheer them on, like they did at the Cattery in Danger's last game for the Crows?

I think if the game was during the day, it wouldnt sit 100% right with me personally. However, given its a night game, Im fine with it.

IMHO
Witts > Rob
Laird v Anderson 50/50
Greenwood > Berry (at this stage)
Touk Miller v Keays 50/50
Weller v Sloane 50/50
Luko, Ellis > Scholl, Seedsman

The Suns arguably bat a bit deeper and definitely have more pace. The Suns have better outside mids and have some speed off half back including the ex-Hawk masquarading as a 70s pornstar.
Weller vs Sloane is 50/50?

North are pretty ropeable that good Friday was expanded to other teams. Even Noble came out and said if the AFL does this to their marquee game then why not allow other teams to play on all the Carlton-Richmond, Essendon-Collingwood etc 'special days'

The only player in the midfield we really need to focus on is Anderson. Cut him out and we are are halfway there. ROB needs to at least break even with Witt's and we need to double team King. Sexton is there next best forward so we need to be careful with our matchup with him. If we bring the pressure we should get good score off turnover. Must take our opportunities in front of goal this week.

Haha. Good point well made though.

Why Carlton automatically get the season opener is one of life's great mysteries.

(Surely you'd go with a grand final rematch)

Weller is very, very damaging, we'll want to put a clamp on him big time.

Bowes and Luko running off half back will also hurt us if we allow them to run around doing as they please.

The NRL, A-league and SANFL have been playing on Good Friday for years and no-one cares. There are 4 SANFL matches on GF this year.

So cheer two players who will never play in a Crows guernsey?

As simple as it sounds, it's so nice to look forward to going to the football and seeing us play. Whether we win or lose who knows but that feeling was completely absent the last season and a half.
Agree. It's actually enjoyable watching us play again even if we do lose. Better kicking last week and we might have won that too. 33 scoring shots was the highest in the afl for round 2. Last year we needed 3 games for that many

Fair enough. It was a genuine question as i have no concept of what the problem is. Im not religious but just don't get it. Enjoy your day whatever you do

It really is nonsensical. You'd think the opening game of each season would be manipulated as much as possible to be as big a blockbuster as possible. Without spending an actual blockbuster on an evening that draws extra bring first anyway. But it shouldn't be gifted to any clubs as a fixturing right.
