I'm in the underground and
that shifty ghoul bar owner wants me to kill Greta and I'll get the contract to his bodyguard. I said I'll think about it. SO when I leave I see Greta outside the city and think I may as well kill her. I go to see the guy in the bar and because I didn't agree to kill Greta I still have to pay for that guy's contract damnit!

I have only found one bobblehead which was in Megaton.

I've got about 8 now.

One in vault 101
Rivet city lab
Some building in the SE
Evan Kings house
Megaton
Evergreen mills market

And i dunno...some other ones somewhere

Just finished the tranquility lane mission where you
Hack apart every person in the street with a knife and watch their limbs tear from their bodies.
Thank god there isn't any morphine in this game though... that could have really messed me up.

I actually found that quest a little distasteful, even if it is just a game... I'm an evil character but I couldn't complete that one.

And yeah... morphine. - Shouldn't Bigfooty be censoring this now that it's a bad word? :o

yeh that was a fairly harsh level. dont know how that slips passed classifiers?

Possible spoilers, highlight to reveal:

im on level 20, just picked up the alien blaster. tough little blaster. i have finished the quest, but playing from a save file just before the final mission. chasing schematics to make custom weapons is my goal and looking for the last of the bobbleheads. coming across new locations each play and having heaps of fun. the quantum level is a bitch. trying to find all these bottles is a bit tedious.

I finished tranquility lane with good karma (without using a walkthrough, although i probably should have, bit tedious doing it trial and error)

Even that's pretty brutal, i was surprised when the Good Karma guy popped up.
I found the secret computer by working out the right sequence to touch the various objects in the abandoned house. The computer has an option to activate a Chinese army invasion simulation, and the chinese come in an machine gun everyone for you basically.

Yep, the .44 does the trick nicely. That'll eat the ants if you have a fair bit of ammo

There's a pretty cool rifle called Lincolns repeater that uses .44 ammo. That's a bloody champ of a gun

To right.
I love the railway rifle.
Fun to use with the V.A.T.S on the feral ghouls down in the subways,
watch their heads stick to the wall. hehe

What do you guys use as your normal gun? I'm not that far into the game I tend to use combat shotgun or chinese rifle (but those bullets run out quickly). What's the best normal gun as far as action points usage and damage goes? Is there anyway to see how many action points a gun uses in vats? Am I missing something obvious?

i use differnt weapons for different situations/enemies. i like using the chinese rifle on raiders, hunting rifle when far and combat shotty when close against supermutants, 10mm smg against ghouls etc. however as you get further in, you pick up weapons like the plasma rifle, alien blaster etc that will get you through in any situation :)

Once you get good enough at small weapons, you can't go past the Hunting Rifle as a VATS "go for the head" gun. There's heaps of rifle ammo out there to keep you going too.

Of course, Grenades are an excellent amputee maker...

Depends on your skills. In enclosed spaces like rooms i use the combat shottie all the time. Medium range the chinese assault rifle/plasma rifle. Long range the sniper. Once you build up your minigun ammo i used that a fair bit too. However its pretty inaccurate in VATS so i generally only used it in real time, at which it was perfect for owning supermutants and Giant Radscorps.

Near the end i had so many friggin missles saved up (about 150) i just used those on everyone. Was handy in Raven Rock:D

Hit the level 20 cap last night and just concentrated on the story. Finished it off in 68 hours with about 380 gamerpoints. There's a 1000 to get all up so its fair to say there's a lot to do on the second playthrough.

I barely explored the north at all.

I'm so rooted.

I played a bit on Friday, finally got past a Super Mutant with a Minigun.. almost dead after that though, then just after that got chased by some Centaurs who led me towards a bridge with another Minigun bastard on it. So I ducked into a room quickly and of course it saved, only to be confronted with two Mudlark mother****ers.

Ran past them after they took the clippers to my face a number of times and now I sort of know where to go but I have to run past more Crab ***** into a room with two Raiders. They have shotties and I have about 8 HP left.

Haha and of course I went out of a room when I saw some Mudlarks to try and find health, went back in and they are right at the door and that's where I start from. So immediately I need to sprint (well amble) past them and then into the Raider room.

I'm in a bit of shite.

Bethesda Announce a Ton of Fallout 3 DLC
Written Tuesday, November 25, 2008 by Dan Webb

Bethesda proved with Oblivion that they were quite willing to support their products long after launch and it appears that Fallout 3 will get the same treatment.
Today Bethesda announced a whole load of exclusive 360 and Games For Windows DLC that comes in the form of three downloadable mission packs released in the early months of next year and the G.E.C.K which will be available for free in December.
The G.E.C.K is the Garden of Eden Creation kit and it "provides the community with tools that will allow players to expand the game any way they wish. Users can create, modify, and edit any data for use with Fallout 3, from building landscapes, towns, and locations to writing dialogue, creating characters, weapons, creatures, and more." Which I'm sure will no doubt please everyone.
The mission packs as planned contain the following missions:
  • Operation: Anchorage. Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. An action-packed battle scheduled for release in January.
  • The Pitt. Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh. Choose your side. Scheduled for release in February.
  • Broken Steel. Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest. Scheduled for release in March.
More missions for Fallout 3 can be nothing but good. Happy days. No word on price yet or achievements but when we know, you'll know

I'm someone who likes to run Football Manager 09 or Pro Evo 09 in one window and an action game (like this) in the other. Anyone got a working no-dvd for it? I can find them for unpatched but not patched (and I need to patch it because it crashed heaps otherwise)

??

Those addons sound awesome, would be great fun slaughtering hundreds in Anchorage wearing good old T51-b Power Armour. The continuation of the main quest sounds interesting,
I wonder if they will show the effect of the Brotherhood in the Citadel and Enclave battles on the Brotherhood of the west coast. I always wondered if after the event's of the game, if the Enclave would attack all Brotherhood forces, not just those in the Citadel as I doubt they would differentiate between the factions. I know its premature to speculate, but I wonder where Bethedsa will take the Fallout Universe next.

Has anyone made a melee character and tried out the Deathclaw Gauntlet? It is a monster of a weapon due to it penetrating armour, I highly recommend getting it if you can take down a deathclaw early in the game (bottlecap mines help).

In my last game I played the entire way through using the VATS system on every occasion. I am now playing through a second time and have a character that specializes with big guns but I've found them all to be pretty much useless in VATS. Not happy:thumbsd:

Still an amazing game though:thumbsu:

Finally decided to go to Galaxy News Radio about halfway through level 8. Super Mutant Behemeth WTF!!! Threw down a few frag mines and fired a couple of missles and he fell like a sack of spuds. Scared the crap out of me when he showed up though.

Before when I was approaching Germantown Police Station to rescue the Big Town residents from the Super Mutants I told Dogmeat to go back to Vault 101. It took him about 4 days to get there! I kept going there to find him once I'd done the Big Town mission and there was no sign of him. Eventually he showed up. Dumb Dogmeat. I've left him at my home in Megaton for this current quest.

ive maxed out on level 20, finished the main quest, just finishing off the side missions now. took me ages to finish the republic of dave quest today, its so glitchy.

Spoilers-

When trying to rig the ballot, and getting eveyone to vote, some of the NPC's move to and stand in front of the ballot box but never cast their vote. when you ask them to vote, they say they will do it straight away but stand there and wont move. have to reload over and over till it finally works.

another glitch i found was when dave lost the ballot and pronounced rosie the winner, he wouldnt leave and kept calling himself the leader. rosie wouldnt acknowledge her win either. it wasnt clearly not part of the story, just another stupid glitch.

I just started playing and am up to the GOAT test. What do I do? I sat down and everyone around me is doing their test but I don't have a test infront of me. I'm just sitting down, able to look around but there's no test!!

Help?

if i remember correctly, the test should pop up in front of you to complete a list of questions. reload your last save.

a tip kerrbs, save every opportunity you get. dont rely on the autosave!
