Just finished a 4 hour sesh. Game is amazing, everything I expected and hoped it would be. I stayed away from gameplay videos and all that, wanted to go into it without any real knowledge.

Also haven't had any problems with the game regarding frame rate or any sort of bug, playing it on the Xbox.

Am I the only idiot who got to sanctuary and had no idea what to do? I didn't realise you can scrap just about everything for materials. I was like how am i meant go find enough shit for 5 beds.!? :$
Just discovered that now after blowing it off for a bit :p

Was hunting for sheep or something for cloth :p

My next character will be Boobies.

They don't seem to bother that I've just plonked the beds in the middle of the street either.

What kind of chair does that weird bitch want? I wasn't paying attention and I built one but she hasn't recognised it or it's the wrong one.
On the build menu there is a new category. Special. It's to the far left. Next to structures.

Played about 5 hours so far, very cool game. I was trying to finish off new Vegas first but I'm not sure I can go back to it now. Haven't spent much time building yet, might have a play with that before work tomorrow.

For those not familiar with Fallout, pick up as much crap as you can and dump it somewhere easy to remember, especially now that you can craft so much.

I'm sure it's simple but I'm stuffed trying to find out to dismantle my junk? I googled and people said transfer all junk to workbench which I tried but it doesn't seem to give me the option to dismantle? Armour and weapons no worries as I just do them at their respective benches but I want to dismantle my junk. I need dat copper yo.

Its this ******* shit that made me stop playing new Vegas 10 minutes into the game, now it's happened here too. Can't do anything but load a previous save. Fix your ******* shit Bethesda.

this is why you don't auto save in a sandbox. its not something that can be fixed.

GTA has autosaving in its open world games. That's a copout answer.

and when you walk into an area in GTA that is hostile and the game auto saves the enemies will always attack.
GTA avoids the death loop by spawning you at a hospital and auto saving AFTER you've respawned.

its missions are also not dynamic you must walk into the map marker to trigger the mission and spawn the mission conditions.
this is one of the differences it comes down to the differences between a sandbox and an open world.

in a sand box game, you walk into an area you kill some shit when you return the area is the same as you left unless mission conditions require a change or the cell resets.

in an open world you kill some shit return and there's no way to indicate you were there at all. unless the mission requires it to be a certain way. just because a game is set in a large environment doesn't mean the mechanics are the same.
