no, Fast Forward was a class above.

Marg Downey's Jana Wendt is the best take-off EVER, no contest (even Jana thought she nailed it).

Bob and Sheryl Ugly, Michelle and Ferret, and the flight attendants are some of the greatest original characters in Aussie comedy - and I haven't even started on the puppets...

I am forever thankful for seeing this show on afternoon Pay TV reruns.

Michael Veitch dose the best "Kiddy Voices:. He is pure gold. Be sure you watch 7 this Sunday for hours of comedy laughs. It includes alot of Fast Forward, especially Pixie Ann Wheatley! Madga IS THE BEST!!!

Fast Forward gets my vote as well, some of my fav bits:

- Mary McGregor's Recession Tips
- Good Morning Moscow
- Pixie Anne
- Dumb Street
- Marg Downey's SBS Highlights sketch, classic :D
- Janelle's Beauty Spot, with Chanelle (Magda)

One of the original sketch shows, and I believe the best one by far!.

theres is surrently 5 fast forwards dvdz out. i have 4, the 5 is being orded to my closest jb hi fi store

That AMAZING STORIES or whatever it was sketch was awesome too..

Has the parking inspector giving someone a ticket because their metre ran out then someone running saying "I was only a minute late!" and the parking inspector goes "Oh alright then" and rips up the ticket....

I voted for Full Frontal but that's because even though I'm old enough to remember the end of Fast Forward... I didn't really understand it at the time. I've watched it on the comedy channel but I didn't get the sense of "I grew up on this" that I get with Full Frontal.

EDIT: I'd just like to add how much these days skit shows suck in comparison. Comedy Inc, skithouse etc etc are all horrible.

Absolutely perfect send up of Jana Wendt. I cracked up when I first saw it.

Bob and Sheryl Ugly
Haha aren't they the creepiest couple ever? :D
Bob (to a stranger in the sauna):"I do hope you're not naked under them towels"
Sheryl: "IIIIIyaaaaaaaahaaaahaaahahahhahahuuuuurrr"

Absolute classic :D

Now there's a blast from the past. I used to listen to that show religiously on TTT-FM down here, every weekday.
From memory it was around 1996. Good radio show - probably the last one I ever took any interest in.

I agree, it's one of the few that I've taken an interest in........top quality. I think they're both very very funny people so I loved it.
Just listening to a tape a friend sent me down from Launceston of Martin-Malloy skits from the radio program at the moment, I forgot just how funny that radio show really was.
I'm in hysterics here listening to this :D

Hey Guys!

Season one of Fast Forward is out. Pretty good, but as we all know not as good as the later years. Anyone hear dates on the other 3 series?

Wasn't that on Comedy Inc?

it was on either of the two FF shows. He also cracked me up when he did his drag skit.

he was in a car ad recently.
Are you sure it wasn't the guy circled from Comedy Inc..because that does sound alot like their skit.

*I know it's a crap pic but It was the only one I could find.

i've been watching the full frontal repeats on the comedy channel in the afternoon...

the episode aired today was one they aired during the summer ratings season, it included some old sketches, some bloopers etc... anyhow the timing of showing this episode was increadibly poor or increadibly funny, depending on which way you look at it...

there was scrolling text on the screen which was a list of things you could do instead of watching crap television, or something like that, wasn't paying much attention, as it was cutting in and out of the whole episode...

anyhow, getting to the point, one of the things on the list was to "Strangle Richard Carleton"...

Haha my sister was telling me about that yesterday, she was like "omg on Full Frontal they said that people should strangle Richard Carelton..etc etc"
I wish it was on later in the day so I could watch it :(

It was two very good shows, some of the most successfull sketch comedy shows world wide. Previously we saw the Comedy Company ect, the list goes on. Recently the Seven Network axed a failing unfunny Let Loose Live programme which was intended to be a spin off from the US hit Saturday Night Live.

Which show did you prefer and find funny?

Personally I thought Fast Forward was by far funnier. With actors such as: Steve Vizard, Michael Veitch, Peter Moon, Steve Blackburn, Glenn Robbins, Geoff Brooks and the "Famous Four" Magda Szubanski, Gina Riley, Jane Turner and Marg Downey were far funnier that Full Frontal's lesser actors.

Full Frontal picked up were Fast Forward left off, and Eric Bana was clearly the star of the show.
Basically, I agree with your summary. Full Frontal was good, but it just didn't have the sheer quality of the wonderfully talented comedians and comediennes who appeared in Fast Forward, a number of whom have continued their success in other TV and film work.

With the exception of Bana, Full Frontal was basically Australian televisions comedy "B" team, whereas Fast Forward was the "A" team.

My favourite Fast Forward character: Bruce Rump. I found myself so often agreeing with his sentiments. :D

I've been watching the DVD's, fast forward was brilliant, the cast had brilliant timing, pretty much all of them are still around. Full frontal was very good but fast forward has set the standard. A standard that rarely gets met by sketch comedies these days.
