I could have been more clear with my post. But for anyone to watch some of it, and not understand the reason I posted it in the context of this thread, nothing I say will honestly clarify it for you.

And strangely, none of the feminists contributing to the thread could address the issues raised in the OP. They will probably just continue to repeat the myth of the gender pay gap, etc and any time someone questions whether that stuff is actually true, they'll take the conversation off in another direction (most likely using mockery or ad hominem attacks). Feminists are great.

I don't think the guys that do it realistically expect that it will work. I think they do it for the benefit of other men, to show how heterosexual they are. It's definitely something that men should be calling out other men for doing. I don't see it happen a lot, but when I do I'll at least look at the dude like he's a moron if I don't actually tell him so.

I like the mock outrage *everytime* when one of the dribblers tracks down an extreme statement by a feminist.

It's pretty clear what the intent of the thread was. Do the ends justify the means? Is it okay to lie and distort facts to make an argument for a good cause?

Because a lot of people (male and female) are turned off by those kinds of tactics. People who are otherwise allies and would like to see many of the same changes in society are belittled and attacked because they object to some of the intellectual dishonesty that is becoming more and more a part of mainstream feminism. Why can't we approach those issues honestly?

I'm confident that I've done more in my lifetime to empower women and girls than the majority of people in this thread. I'm on the same page on the majority of important gender issues as the average feminist. Feminists tell me that I AM a feminist because of my positions on various gender issues. But I reject being called a feminist, as do many women that I know. And this thread is a great example of why. There's been no acknowledgement of the points made in the OP. No attempt to refute that they are myths or that those viral videos were misleading. No attempt to explain why these kinds of tactics are necessary or even that they are beneficial overall. Just the usual lame attempts to avoid the discussion.
