Many unhappy with FIFA for poor gameplay with online pro club, but maybe someone else could shed some light on that..

Difficult/impossible to find games, laggy as ****, freezes unexpectedly during matches forcing you to restart the console, stupid AI, quitters.

They had to take down the EA servers to fix it two nights after release... and it still has these bugs.

Scored my best goal yet on world class, a perfect cross, and a perfect diving header from Cahill in a 1-1 draw against Arsenal. Also came back from 3 goals down against Inter, Cahill scored 3 goals in 12 mins, though two of them were from terrible goalkeeping errors.

I still got a lot of improving to do though before I can compete with the best, 1 on 1, free kicks and defending (have a habit of conceding a ridiculously terrible goal every match)

Umpires are shockingly biased. I had a player sent off in the Arsenal game for a bump that shouldn't have even been a free kick. Was fuming, luckily I was able to defend with 5 minutes to go. Oh and handballs are glitchy as well. You can make a terrible challenge that is reportable, but if the opponent handballs on the ground or during their fall, free kick to you instead :P
Had this happen last night while playing with my VP.

Was a teammate I wasn't controlling. They got open and my teammate completely stopped him from running in on his own to goal with a terrible slide tackle, thing was as the guy who got tackled fell over he rolled onto the ball and hit it with his hands thus causing a handball when it really should've been a red.:o

I still rather have handballs on though as I find I benefit more from them taking a few potshots or crossing it into the defenders hands.

The refereeing is fine for me, don't have a problem with it at all. Sure, it can be frustrating at times, but one experiences the same thing in reality as well, so I can't complain too much.

The ratings system in career mode, on the other hand.....

Are any of the defensive stats working for people's VP?

Myself and caMo have found that they just aren't recording no matter what. The tackles work in other accomplishments like Physical and whatever, but the 'Defence' one's just don't seem to be adding up at all. A bug perhaps?

I don' t know if they are not recording because I don' t look at the accomplishments much but I do know my physical and mental attack stats have all gown up and my defence is still fairly low and I do my fair share of defending.

refereeing is beyond a joke. I regret not recording what I got a yellow for before. Aquilani (me) had the ball, lost control of the ball and sort of tripped over himself. Fell into another player, and got a yellow. The thing was I didnt press a button haha. Handballs are also a joke, dont turn them on at least for penalties.
I also hate how referees waste my time by running over to me, only to wave there hands. I honestly dont care.

Yesterday I had a shot with my striker in the box, shot got blocked and the guy who blocked it followed through into the leg my striker was shooting with. Next minute my guy gets a yellow card! Worst yellow I've seen so far.

I finally got a dodgy penalty though, only goal of the game too so that was a bit of payback.

That's a bit of a bummer, guess they're sort of forcing you to play a defensive role.

Wonder if CDM's can get those defensive stats or not, would be a pretty redundant role if not.

I have only ever controlled just my VP in one match so you can always chuck your guy in defence and control the whole team if you want.

Personally, I think it is good when you are playing against another human because of that very reason, but when you are playing the AI, it is so blatantly biased towards them, it's completely ridiculous.

I had the most infuriating goal conceded yesterday too. The goalie was powering up for a long kick out of defense and Robin Van Persie just walks along as I was dropping the ball onto my boot, takes the ball off me in that process and scores a goal. Lost 3-2.

I still haven't been given a penalty and I've played nearly played a full season.

I don't notice it too much, even against the AI, but perhaps I'm not paying that much attention to it.

I had a similarly infuriating goal against me the other day, as I passed a goal kick straight to the opposition's forward and he scored.

Terrible feeling.

On a brighter note, here's a goal I scored with Shinji Kagawa of Dortmund:

I haven't had many bad cases with ref's at all. The thing that annoys me about the A.I is that when you play a person you can figure out their next move and then get your player to tackle or intercept the ball. The A.I reacts to where you are positioned so you can't predict what they are going to do really.

i get penalty almost every game. i had 3 in the first half against west ham.

All for handball though. Ive got 1 penalty from being tackled. and about 10-15 from handballs. Im about 3/4 through thte first season.

Man U 13 Vs Liverpool 14 how the hell that happen was a shoot out .

Played a season and a half and haven't won a penalty.

Only penalty I've received is when I turned on the handball to include penalties for one game. I conceded three myself though. Quite rare to see a yellow card for AI too, perhaps one every five games or so, whereas I at least pick up one most games.

I just hold LT and flick the stick, always manage to either get past them or get fouled, or you can flick it forward if you're player is getting pressured so you can stream forward more without the pressure to put in a good cross.

Made a it's always sunny team, description: the gang creates a football team :D

How do you guys get past players. The only way I can do it is just outrunning them.

There are so many freaking dribbling moves but which ones are actually simple and useful?

One-touch plays -> through ball -> goal scoring opportunity.

Works every time, regardless of whether you are out wide or in the center. Though, you have to be quick or else the ball gets intercepted or your player gets fouled.

Fake shot goes alright. O then X with a change of direction.

I've ditched Ipswitch Town and have decided to move onto something new, but I don't know what I want to do. I tried Man Utd. for something very different and that was boring as bat piss.

Any suggestions?

There's a lot and some are just out of the realm of reality for many while in game. But the simplistic one's are often fairly helpful in some situations.

Just stuff like holding L2 and flicking the right stick around in a half semi-circle either up or down, left or right can help you get around someone (especially if they're running directly towards you).

Test out the stuff in the arena (try out the training mode by pushing select and selecting a game against anywhere from 2-11 players) and you'll eventually learn your way around it.

FWIW I rarely use the dribble moves and opt for a quick passing gameplan, generally the only time I go for a dribble move is at kick off, but that has sort of been quelled with more men around the middle at kick off.

Tricks are useless imo, a good fifa player will hold L2 while defending, thus making 99% of tricks redundant.

The AI don't though and online I've played maybe 1% of people who do use the L2 on defence. So it can work on the occasional times.

Yep, quick passing catches out the AI defence most of the time (world class or legendary) and results in alot of one-on-ones with the keeper for me and thus that's why I go with the one-touch plays followed by a simple through ball when the AI defence has pushed up/has been sucked into tracking the ball. Tricks aren't that useful, imo. I'll occasionally go with the odd step-over to change direction but other than that, meh.

Though, I've found dribbling is easier later in the game if you bring on wingers, you'll run rings around the tired full backs especially on the counter, if the AI is trailing.

If you play as Tottenham you can skin pretty much any fullback with pace and maybe a stepover. With the wingers as Bale & Lennon its quite easy to do. You also have Dos Santos who is very pacy aswell:thumbsu:
