Who would be our first choice to coach the club next season and beyond? Just a hypothetical, doesnt matter if you dont think they will come over or not i just want to know if you had the choice out of all the names suggested so far who would be your first choice?

Early days yet but I like Harvs at the moment. Ideal situation would be Harvs as Head Coach and Sheeds as Director of Coaching.

If Harvey wins the next two games. They won't even bother doing interviews they'll just have a chat to him about his vision for the club then just give him the job.

Adelaide in Adelaide, Geelong & WC doesn't come any tougher than that. If he wins those he would have shown more than anyone could in any interview and they will look no further.

Agreed

Would Sheedy still have the fire in the belly?

He will always be remembered as the Essendon coach. He's not like Malthouse who was looking to start again and build another legacy. Sheedy is almost done and not just because of his age.

Why does anyone think Pagan's such a great coach? Sure he was good at North but they were like The West Indies, anyone could have coached them. Seriously how well did he go at Carlton without Carey, Archer and Co?
After 5 years of being crap how is it that he's suddenly going to become a genius again at Freo? Carlton's list isn't that bad, they will start winning a few again with Ratten. We don't need to pay a fortune for some over the hill guy who won some flags like a hundred years ago. Same goes for Sheedy and, God forbid, Blight. We'd just end up like Richmond with some overpaid hack on a 25 year contract telling us we will be ready to challenge for a flag in 2047. Laidley got the Roos up again from nothing. Port are already back in town. Harvey can do it for us.
Develop our own winning culture!

Don't really care with the exclusion of Danniher & Sumich.
Happy with Harvey, but the great Sheedy is a nice idea. but I think that's a pipe dream.

If Harvey wins the next two games then Carlton and Melbourne will be having a bit of a yack to him about how much he'd love to be back in Melbourne. Essendon may too.

I like Mark Harvey and I really hope he continues to tear it up, but we should remember the amount of times a new coach has a good win first up and then it goes back to the same old, same old. Yes I am a pessimist. :)

"Bomber" Thompson is out of contract at the end of the year. Why isn't he on the list? What chance Wallet may be looking for a new club?

Thompson will almost certainly be at the cattery next year, and if he leaves it will be to the bombers.

Wallace still has 2 years to run, he will definately be at punt road next year. Another season in the bottom 2 will put his position in jeopardy for 2009 though.

From today's West-

Privately, Fremantle ruled out Sheedy, with his protege, Mark Harvey, remaining the front runner to be the long term replacement for Chris Connolly.

:(

FFC should not be ruling anyone out at the moment, especially not super coach Kevin Sheedy. And expecially given that Harvey may yet throw his hat in the ring at Essondon.

If Hart blows our chance to get Sheedy, then Hart must be dethroned as club chairman.

Sheedy should be our No.1 target. This is a no brainer.

Could you please highlight the word Hart, or Rick Hart in any posts you write criticising our chairman? That way it will save me wasting time reading the nonsense you constantly post.

Once again. The board suspended Farmer in April. The board decided against a suspension this time. The board will appoint Chris Connolly's replacement. Rick Hart is in charge of f**k all.

Rick Hart is Chairman of the Board you delusional twat.

Look Dominguez, we all realise by now that you are a Hart loyalist.

But, when you try and deny that Hart has any influence over the board (inspite of the fact that he is Chairman of the board) it just damages your credibility.

In fact it just makes you look like a liar.

Clearly Hart does influence board decisions, because he is a member of the board. In fact, he has a driving influence in all board decisions because he "chairs the board".

This is not Dockerland mate, you cant get away with your flat earther logic around here.

Oh the irony... :D

I think that Rick Hart and Cameron Schwab are both tossers, but your constant attacks on him became tiresome a long time ago.

Rick Hart isn't a dictator, he can try to push any agenda he so chooses, but if he doesn't get a majority vote then bad luck Ricky boy.

Ofcourse he has an influence, but they aren't 10 year olds sitting in the school yard. Each board member is responsible for his own decisions, and each board member should be criticised for any decisions you have a gripe with.

If there are board members who are happy to sit back and let Rick Hart make decisions then your vendetta should be against them, and not Rick Hart.
