Where do we go from here? We don't have a first rounder this year.

The players on the list are it. We're missing Wardlaw, Archer and FOS as best 22 players - none have played more than 50 games.

No one is coming to save them.

We brought in over-the-hill Parker, Daniel and Darling for experience.

FOS has showed more positivity than Daniel all year, not to mention FOS is actually young and on the up. Daniel is old and on the decline.

The thing that scares me is that we still have spotfires to put out on every single line, 5 years into a rebuild.

Forwardline has Larkey, Zurhaar, Curtis as mainstays. Two big money players and one gun soon to be on big money. All would be locks in any other side.Then we have Darling who is very capable and intelligent. And any one or two of Simpkin, Sheezel, Parker running through there. All locks in any other side. And let's not forget the capital we've invested in medium forwards, Duursma, George, Ford all not getting a game in that forwardline.

Theoretically it SHOULD be good enough. But it's not.

Midfield has LDU, Powell, Sheezel, Parker, Simpkin. We have a dominant ruck. And yet it's fundamentally broken. And let's not forget the investment goes beyond that: Colby and FOS can't crack into it.

Theoretically again it SHOULD be good enough. But it's not.

Our wings in RHJ, Colby and Scott leave a lot to be desired. Not sure any of them will ever be elite in that role.

The backline is a chasm. Not a single small or tall defender we have is a lock in any other side. Despite, again, significant investment there.

We are just absolutely not getting any bang for our draft or trading buck at all.
