I think that's fairly standard practice. Could be wrong, but that's my understanding.
Yeah I asked that question last year about someone warming up and got the same answer. Emergencies do full warm ups now a days

Definitely was. I would be very disappointed and confused to see him out for next weeks game.
Not enough love for Zac Clarke. 9 marks (3 contested), 17 disposals at 90% DE, 15 hitouts and a goal.
Can't ask for much more from your backup ruckman. Clarke is close to the best backup ruckman in the league this season.
Naitanaui could only dream about getting those kind of stats.
Bulldogs are a top 8 team this year. Too beat the, on their home deck when they're still in some good early season form is great no matter which way you look at it. The players supposedly down on form (ie Suban, Ballas, etc) are still playing to their role and helping us win games. It's why we'll keep winning games all year. I'm confident they'll work their way into form as the season progresses in time for finals.
The only one I'm genuinely worried about is Taberner. Guys drops way too many marks, and allows his defender to impact play too much.
I noticed this whilst at the game and I'm not sure why he was doing it either. Sutty also had some really poor disposal decisions that resulted in goals. I guess on the bright side we are 7-0 and we have some players (Sutty, Ballas, Walters) yet to hit their known straps.I just watched the replay, trying to work out what is going on defensively on TV is never easy but a few things stood out:
Crameri did a good job at getting Ibbo as far away from the play as possible. Other coaches will take note.
Sutcliffe let's his opponent get goal side way too much to be a good defender. How is Brady Grey tracking?
Remember when MJ only used to point when he had stuffed up and wanted to blame someone else? Nowadays his pointing actually means something. Thank christ we had him today.
Ya-haHoly crap, Robin Nahas is still on an AFL list?!
Perfection. How good was that massive Fyfe clearence to a one handed Pav. Epic!
Was that when The Bont went against Sandi in the ruck? How good was that massive Fyfe clearence to a one handed Pav. Epic!
Yeo vs. Fyfe comparisons on eagles forum.....(i am being genuine)
Brad Wira kept saying on ABC radio. 'any chance the suns could put someone on him'I can see it. He isn't anywhere near as good but played a similar role on the weekend for WCE and did it well. Got some upside too. Would be in the top bunch of WCE players for sure.
I still think we are looking for one more defender. Sutty wants to run and carry I reckonSutty being got over the back - funny you mention that, in the Melb game RTB spat the chewy in the box when Garlett got Sutty under the ball. To see it happen again, would not surprise to see Sutty pay the penalty this week

I think we will get some idea of how close Brady is to playing that role if we knew why he played so poorly on Shane Yarren. I think he was unwell around that time, so I don't know if that was part of the reason. If he was just beaten then he has a bit more learning to do.Yep spot on. You could definitely see the impact of the backline mix we had. Sheridan and Sutty are running mids, having to learn to be defenders, and with Pearce in game 2, we definitely got a bit disorganised. Thanks fahk for MJ.
Duffield has improved his one on one defending, but is a little in the same boat as Sheridan and Sutty. Just seems that these are the available spots in the 22 for our up and comers, so defenders they are (for now)
All of which suggests to me that if B Grey is going as well as purported (haven't seen him myself), he might have a future as our true shutdown mid/small back. Our Nick Smith, with Sutty and Sheridan sliding up the ground.
