They have two Reids and neither was the best Reid on ground.

On that evidence alone, I'm off to book the bus and hotel. Flagmantle is back baby!1!!!

In all seriousness I liked Brayshaw stepped up - hopefully he can do it when Serong cops a tag.
Jackson had his best game in a while, and Amiss got 4, I think Voss took some attention away from him.
And yeah, Dudley, he could be a player.

We're still butchering some surefire scoring opportunities though, Bolton had a couple even though he was in and about it, Frederick had like 4 and he wasn't nearly as involved. Hard to see us beating the Bulldogs playing as we did today

Did what they should have. Except for kicking straight. Should've been a 70 point win really.

Reid is class. I like Dudley.

Shai still trying too hard to get his first. Got in the way of Amiss quite a bit towards the end.

Like what NOD does.

Sharps disposal is shocking.

Voss is so close. 11 marks i50 in the past two weeks. If his kicking can be fixed he's a player.

Worner is shocking. Aish should be in over him.

It can only help.

I don't buy the bullshit about taking "lots to like" out of a loss, there's always more to gain from a win especially when our forward line looked dangerous for once.

A mature poster would relegate the many observations about how putrid the Eagles are to the nonFreo thread and concentrate on us.

But how putrid are the Eagles?

Good to see we rarely tried to over handball and started hitting the short kicks.

Our pressure for the first three quarters was a lot better.

I’m not getting too excited though, teams with top notch half backs cut us apart, and West Coast were really average stopping transition. Gave us too many 2v2s on the wing so we got through.

Good to see Serong and Bray better this week. Still desperate for Young back, too many trash kicks inside 50.

Next week is another big game

WE WON A GAME!!! EAD BLUE AND YELLOW SHIT campaignerS!!

The fact that we didn’t win by 10-15 goals is disgrace. Bulldogs will touch us up next week if we fail to convert so many inside 50s again.

Team selection again needs to be questioned. Worner? Seriously? The bloke has shown every time he gets a gig that he is not up to it. He might be okay in team defence but his idiotic turnovers just kill us. Aish as the sub? The guy did more in a quarter on the field than Sharp has done in 3 games. I was a big Sharp defender last season as I could see at the games he was getting into positions but constantly got ignored. He is showing this season why he got ignored so much.

Dudley needs to stay in. He is a touch of class and the couple of times he linked up with Bruce and Bolton were brilliant. It showed the importance of good ball use forward of center and on transition which, as I say time and again, we don’t get from Wagner and Walker. The sooner Young is back the better.

Voss. If only he could kick straight. He has everything but the finishing. If he kicks 3.1 instead of 1.3 then you could easily excuse his brain farts but he is doing himself no favours and is not showing why he should have a case to stay in the team when Darcy is fit.

Bolton forward of center has been so Freo’d it is ridiculous. He is trying way too hard to make things happen instead of keeping it simple. When in the middle he looks very much like the Bolton we thought we were getting.

There were better signs but defensively we are so shit it isn't funny. If Bulldogs decided to move Lobb forward and play with Darcy, Lobb, and Naughton then I reckon they will have a field day. Cox and Ryan are not even close to being a defender's arseh*le when forced to defend 1v1 and I am seriously scared about what better forward lines can do to us going forward.

Was going to say the same, felt like a 60-80 point win but we just couldn't slot the goals when we should have.

Shai got involved but no where near his best yet, hope it starts to click as the season goes on.

Reid continues to show a lot as a footballer, Murphy that is, loved some of his clever handballs and taps.

You can't really make an argument for him to stay in regardless without taking out one of Amiss or Treacy when Darcy is back.

Sorry to be a downer but like, it just wasn't enough. WC were horrific and we made so many errors off no pressure that any half decent team switches that scoreline. I'm now trying to reconcile my love of Walls with how many bad footballers we play.

Said it in the game thread but there are just so so many Freo players playing below their best and if you'd told me me Jackson is having a career year I'd have told you we look a million bucks. We just don't. We are a long long way off the good teams.

Shout out to Reid, Noddy, Wombat, Jackson and Ras for exciting / promising / fun games and season so far.

The fact that so many players are playing below their best can be a positive. Would be worse if we had players playing their best and were still dishing this stuff out.

I actually thought Worner was ok and at times did good things, like the kick inside which I think we got a goal from.

But he needs us to be playing the game in our front half, with good pressure on the ball. He’s not someone we want on the field if the oppo are moving it quickly, he’s just too slow.

Went back with the flight though so he has guts.

Yeah but I put it down to gameplan confusion as much as anything.

Saw the whole game.

Forward line was a mixed bag, Tracy was good.

Amiss and Voss both sprayed shots until they got their 1st.

Biggest postive of the day was a Young bloke wearing Roger Hayden's old number 43.

Isaiah Dudley got 2 goals on debut.

I know a lot of you Dockers on here are sometimes frustrated for the Dockers handballing to often.

The way Isiah Dudleys debut goal was set up with a few handballs on a wing which ended up a kick inside 50 to Isaiah Dudley mark. Dudley slots his set 15-20 metres out.

I don't know if McDonald is fit or not but if he is, then he simply has to come in for Cox.

As Lach72 said, Johnson did well on Reid.

Seeing Jai outbody McGovern blew my mind, when not long ago, teams would work him over and repeatedly get physical both on and off ball, a couple of goals was just reward for him - fingers crossed, he's gotten his goal sense back. Interesting to see him parked so far forward when the ball was in d50, something we all screamed at Ross about having no one there.

Voss shoulda finished some of his kicks around the field and at goal better (same as last week), But, he presented well and worked hard around the ground. So, while he fluffed the kicks at goal, he earned those repeated attempts.

Main thing for our game, was having Caleb in the middle from the first bounce. Would have been a harder game if we played him forward again.
