All 25 players trained, meaning no silly rumours about injuries this week.:D

Seems like it was perfect conditions to train in, even though it was wet, as the Etihad surface is playing like a wet weather surface in areas anyway.

Collingwood's final training session of the week featured 25 players working for over an hour at Gosch's Paddock on Friday morning.

The 22 named plus the three emergencies worked out in front of a large gallery mostly made up of kids and their parents enjoying the school holidays.

Rain pelted consistently for the duration of the session, making it difficult for players to keep their feet in the slick conditions.

Anthony training with the forwards and backs! Our new swingman? We will have 2 swingmen, adding in Leroy. Why not get more players into the swing scene - Reid I reckon could swing a bit, and Trav is another who might benefit from a stint on a swing. Heater and O'Brien always get a mention whenever the swing is raised in threads.

Malthouse always did talk of encouraging versatility e.g. Jason Cloke, but he does not actually seem to create opportunities for the big guys to skill up on their opposite zones.

My guess would be he is the VFL top up player for this week (23rd man).

(Name as "Elliott" in the team on Thursday night).

Could be Correct

Ideally Malthouse has been trying for years to build a side that has players

playing roles in the back line and the forward line (swingmen).Interesting strategy and could prove very fruitful.Especially come finals.

The abilty to switch players back and forth would be fantastic but malthouse's problem is he keeps persisting with a one dimensional game plan, and rarely shifts players around or in lot of past cases plays players out of position.

The availabilty of having the luxury of having players that add more strings to their bows is fantastic so for goodness sake Malty have the nerve to make changes when required, shake things up a bit when the
team is getting beaten ,you never know it may just work to your favour.

:thumbsu::thumbsu: couldn't have put it better myself...I fully here what you're saying daicscousin and pray that if MM wants swingmen then he needs to start swinging some changes when our game plan doesn't cut it on the day instead of saying that players need to learn from getting beaten by their opponent and does nothing about it and game over!!

JA will take marks off the half-back, sprint through the centre, and then bullet dead-eye goals from the 50m mark. He's created a new position on the field for himself, the Centre Half Back Forward.
