I rate Dusty up there with GAJ, his skills and the way he brings the team together leave Danger for dead. Best player in the comp by a fair margin. One thing we learnt is Dusty is way better than Danger.. He always stands up in big games and play the game and doesn't look for the cameras. Richmond play as a team and all players contribute, we have too many players that go missing.
One positive is we won the sprint....
Agree, lack of composure when the ball hit the ground. At one stage Blicavs meandered after a ball that had been hastily cleared by Richmond, by the time he got there, bent down fumbling to pick it up, he still had time to handball but instead stood up in a tackle and got pinged for dropping the ball.Agree with all three of these, although mainly #2 on your list as that was the most conspicuous failure tonight imo. So many of them looked like they didn't know what to do when the ball was on the deck in the second half; the amount of times we had players standing off the ball expecting others to do the hard work, and/or tentatively tapping it around in a panicked "oh sh*t wtf do I do" fashion was galling.
Your post is pretty disrespectful to fellow Geelong supporters. Sometimes it's good to be positive and hope for the best. Maybe you could try it some time.Come on all you arrogant braggers, who boasted that Geelong would win!
Stand up + take your medicine!
Show the same guts in defeat, as your bravado, when you bragged about our certain win!
Where are you?
Where is your expression of regret?
Where is your admission of arrogance?
Where is your apology?
How many of you will admit you were wrong?
Come on you big bragging losers!
Have the fortitude to admit you were wrong!
You braggers, have the courtesy to apologise to those you berated!
Any braggers, who have the fortitude to admit they were wrong?
Any?
There were many who criticised those of us, who were fearful of a loss.
Where are you now? Have you crawled back under your rocks?
Why not so lippy now?
Loved your post. Agree with your list of Geelong players who performed on the night. Dangerfield was all over the shop and generally ineffective. Martin was the opposite, always composed and every disposal damaging. We had our chances to put them away in the second qtr, we were wasteful, Miers misses 25 out straight in front, we should have 30+ plus in front, we were too blaze when we were on top. The odd time the ball gets down, dusty turns half a chance into a goal, breathes confidence into the tigers and they fight their way into the contest in the last 4 minutes go into half time break 2 goals down, knowing that when it's their turn on top they'll make us pay.
Dangers 2nd half was shocking, it's a grand final and he's staging for free kicks in marking contests, going to ground too easy, whilst dusty just plays the ball, keeps his feet and give him half chance he kicks the goal. We had no one to go onto him, he's too smart for kolo, maybe we should have tried blix, as he struggled in the midfield, with the tackle pressure.
My best were
Stewart
Selwood
Stanley
Menegola
Guthrie
Duncan faded badly in the second half
I reckon we're hard on Rohan, he took Grimes out of the game in the first half, he never gets much of the ball and I thought his pressure was good.
Gaz shows again shows you don't need much of the ball, still with one arm his decision making is first class and Harry was very good again, keeping Lynch from taking over
Who else will retire?
Hendo?
Tuohy?
Selwood? I think he would have if we won
your players kicked some great goals from outside 50, and looked imposing.
To say you dominated as much as us is being a little generous. Yes you had chances, but we had Lynch and Jack>r who couldn't take a mark for a half of footy.
Rioli did nothing but fumble half the game. we had our spuds too, its swings and roundabouts....we have a lot of faster players than you do, you have a lot of bigger body players then us.
That goal of martin's in the third qtr. The goal umpire stayed hunched over looking strange for a bit after the ball had gone by. I can't see it particularly well from 7's coverage, but the ump looked perplexed amd it must have gone very close to the post.
"an average Richmons team"!!!! Where have you been Rip van Winkle, three premierships in the last 4 seasons with one of the greatest players of all time who became the first player to win three Norm Smith Medals!!! I guess being disappointed provides the delusion that Dusty is too...an average player! We lost to an average Richmond team. Scott has not learned a thing from any of our previous encounters.
Can we finally send Rohan to the dole queue? inept footballer who's cancerous behavior has damaged relationships within the club.
And **** Cameron. Send that campaigner to the draft. destroyed our chances and distracted the whole club.
Dangerfield. Statistically his 2nd worse game playing for the cats. In a Grand Final. Disgraceful and towelled up by plodders.
Hopeless performance and the team should be embarrassed with themselves
Dont get your analogy.A quarter isn't bigger than a half, friend
Nothing to do with the players or coach. There was more than 100 people in the club contingent, players' families, coaches, staff. etc of course they booked a venue for a party, as did Richmond and any other club in almost any league, arranges a post GF party.I said it in the game day thread but I'll say it again here. This was never going to end well after they said on the grand final brunch that Geelong had a venue booked for a party from midnight to 7am tonight. I mean really that is just arrogance

ahhh missed that one. I read it as half for some reason. What are you doing up so early? You said:
"To say you dominated as much as us is being a little generous"
But the person you were responding to never said they did. He said Geelong dominated the second quarter like Richmond dominated the second half.
A half is bigger than a quarter.
We better go and buy a goalkicker.Losing grand finals really ******* sucks - especially when leading at halftime
Richmond made their ascendency count more than we did ours; congrats to them on the flag
