Review Geelong defeats GWS by 44 points...

I was only commenting on how much he has improved, not how good he is.
It does however make me wonder how some players would have gone if they had not been finished off at 50-60 games, and had been given the 60-70 bonus games Murdoch got. It's an imprecise science.
Bews in particular has been stiff.
It probably doesn't seem like it, but I do try to see what other people see in Murdoch but fail to get it. Is he related to Rupert?

Looks like a trip to G to play Richmond in a fortnight, thumping saints already, **** the AFL and there home finals, technically the tigers are getting a home final over us.

Doesn't worry me too much. To state the obvious we have to win at the MCG anyway....might as well start in the first final.

Not the point, we earnt a home final so why the **** dont we get one, pointless us finishing top 2 now.

It's interesting that the home ground argument is happening now.

What was this boards attitude in 07 when we played a Kangaroos team on the verge of a merger who could have fit into Kardinia comfortably at the G in a quali? Did we complain? Or did we just get on with it and embarrass them by over 100 points?

I don't like it anymore than the rest of you, but the G is where we have to win so we need to get time there.

Re Finals location:
I recall a few years ago when we had to 'host' Melbourne at the MCG (the game where Kingy kicked the Melbourne ruckman in the head - forget his name now).
I remember thinking at the time how that seemed unfair to us as the team that finished higher on the ladder.
(We beat Melbourne convincingly :thumbsu:)

The reason they have a problem with it is that they know this side can't perform at the 'G. The problem with trying to keep the side away from the G in finals, however, is that's where the GF is played. If your side can't perform there, it can't win the flag, as WCE showed in 2015. Trying to avoid playing there isn't a solution. The solution is for the side to figure out how to play the ground.

Re Buzza:
I agree that on the stat sheet he was rather poor and he does seem 'clumsy' when attempting to mark the ball (eye problems?). But what I do like is his hard attack on the ball (or ball carrier) which resulted in a chaos ball to the advantage of our ground level players. I think he is in desperate need of a ruck coach (he's a suburban league level ruckman atm).
I'll just have to trust the MC when it comes to the choice of him over Stanley.

I reckon you're right here, but in this case our opponents (Richmond) will have an advantage that we should have had. For argument's sake, if we played Richmond at KP and won, then our PF would be at the G against an interstate team (more likely) where we would have some advantage.

We've played our home finals against Hawthorn and Collingwood at the MCG in the past.

BTW, say we win our QF, and Adelaide lose theirs but win their subsequent EF, would we play the QF against them at the G or AO? (Given that Adelaide finished above us).

How many big forwards have met your standards after 6 games?

He consistently provides a contest both in the air and on the ground. That's more than can be said for Menzel, Motlop, Stanley, Guthrie, Parsons...

I think you missed my meaning - I was praising his contested approach. My comment regarding his ruck craft was to improve his technique and avoid frees against. Maybe the dearth of ruck coaching has been a problem at Geelong (see Nathan Vardy)

Know it's been answered, but I'll explain in more detail. Ladder position at the end of H&A only matters for finals seeding. It doesn't mean anything for future finals, draft position or final ladder position.

Top 2 get Double Chance and Two home Finals.
If they win week 1, they get the home game week 3
If they lose week 1, they get the home game week 2, and if they win week 2, play away week 3 to the winner of the other QF.

3 and 4 get Double chance and one home final
If they win week 1, they get the home game wee 3
If they lose week 1, they get the home game week 2, and if they win week 2, play away week 3 to the winner of the other QF.

Only difference between 1/2 and 3/4 is who gets the home final week 1, after that it doesn't matter who finished 1,2,3 or 4, only who wins their QF.

If Adelaide go out straight sets, they will finish 5th or 6th on the official ladder, and obtain the corresponding draft pick at the end of the year.

Like I said last night, it's alright if he's unsighted, so long as his direct opponent is too.

Just finished watching replay and he was working hard all night. Allot of blocking and physical pressure without getting possessions and not sure if these are counted. He looked a bit off but was working hard.
