Go cats!
I'm also keen for updates on the practise game, are there any options for news on that?
Nakia Cockatoo was also prominent for the Cats in his long battle back from knee and hamstring injuries and O’Bree said one moment in particular got him excited.
“He got three quarters of football, probably the last minute of his three quarters is the Cocky we want to see where he just broke the game open, took a few bounces and kicked it deep inside our forward 50.”
“He’s done a fair bit of work and he got through unscathed and hopefully he pulls up okay.”
So do you know how the match slim went ( same thing)If it was a scratch match.
Scott has consistently described it as match sim.
So do you know how the match slim went ( same thing)
Match sim pre game
No JJ, Okanbor, Tarca and Parfitt didnt play.
Clark, Zuth, Fort, Kolo, Hendo, Zuthire were good.
Cocky - got 3/4 of footy and in the last minute had a good cocky moment. Got thru unscathed.
Evans looked slick with the ball in hand on F 50.
All the new rookies had moments.
Chook, Fog, Simmo and Cooper looked very good and not out of place.
Per Shane OBree.
GO Catters
Thanks for that - good to hear all of it.Cookie on KROCK
Its been unprecedented times. He learned there are no answers and had to be collaborative.
Retain revenue.
Be healthy
And stay connected.
Stood down 100 staff and all playeres
70 staff still off the book and about 70 are back but all are part time currently.
Not sure of what the future will bring. Dont know what the new rules are. Soft cap, TPP, non football ceiling to be introduced.
Its up to the AFL to tell us.
Best guesses are good - thats all he has. Will take 3-4 years pverall to get back to 2019 levels.
Next year will be really tough. Not sure of corporate or member retention for next year. Just cant tell what we wil get - so its gonna be tough.
He praised member and corporates. Nearly 70% of member retention. Said that's amazing.
Was a 10 million debt down to 5 million debt - and that is mostly due to member and crop retention so far. Its been amaxing.
He's aiming to be cash neutral at seasons end. That is the best case scenraio.
Player staff and focus is hard - but all our coaches are part time. The upside is everyone is still invovled. Keeping them engaged has been good for the moral and attitude.
Engagment is a big thing They've been working hard to keep everyone int he club invovled.
Contracts - not allowed to talk to anyone by the AFL. No contract talks for the last 2 months. Hoping it gets going really soon Need soft cap and TPP first.
And same for the VFL team - determines the staffing numbers and everyhting follows that.
On Stev, very happy to have him here and out there for us.
When Cookie heard the outbreak today - he focused on club and its ramifications - and hopes it isolated and does not spread. But its just another hurdle and hope it all calms down - based on the science of it.
GFC have been following the health experts regarding players. Totally guided by that. CLub is just a flow thru of those rules.
Stage 5 - probably later but will be after T20 world cup. Commence perhaps at end of next year.
Cookie contracted thrn end of 2021 currently - his future is marked at the end of 2021 still - no plans to go on further yet but wants the cub to be in a good spot before he moves on.
WAs asked about the CA CEO job - but he's hell bent on making sure GFC is good before he leaves.
Carter is out at end of 2021. Thats been a plan. Replacement not yet known.
No idea yet for rounds 6 and 7 - seems SA and WA are the issues at this moment. If GFC is asked to do a hub - they will go.
99 was 7 million in debt - 21 million on todays money...so being 6 million down at seasons end is not as bad as that was. If we can 3-4 million short at end of 2020 thats a good spot considering the peril of the situation.
Go Catters
Done well DazBest I can do.

Good luck to Jack in his first game for the club. Let’s hope he gets a goal or two and has a good game.
And we get the win!!
